Town of Westerly Washington Trust Community Skating Center — Attraction in Westerly

Changed the rules mid winter season. Shortened the skate time with requiring reservations. We brought our bundled and excited family to go skate when the desk warden told us of the change. We went weekend after weekend without issue. After 5 minutes of empowering this gate keeper we were allowed but not after a scolding. We were forced to pay full price which was $22 for only 45 minutes. Previous weekend was $22 for 5 hours. Now I wait for them to open so I can make this reservation. They open at 12:30 but do not have a way reserve a spot online or anyone to answer phones prior to opening. Not sure if we should get ready to go or try to get an answer while all families are also waiting to get in. Great way to ruin a good activity. When everyone is buried in their cell phones and people are scared of the sun this was the one great way to get family...

I attended the ice rink with my wife and kids and I a happy to report the atmosphere was incredibly professional and comfortable for the customer. The staff is very well trained and kind to their costomers especially the skate guards, there was a young gentlemen named Casper who was very accommodating, he helped my son, who has never ice skated before, to learn the basics of ice skating. I had so much fun the staff assure saftey and you can skate from when they open to when they close you just have to pay full price. The YMCA gift certificates are no longer available because they don’t run it which is fine and in the summer the farmers market is always fun. The rentals are clean and secure also you can get figure Skates, hockey skates, and normal skates.
