Dropped 2 snowboards off to be edged and waxed. Guy beat on them to get the base bolts out. Couldn't figure out how to loosen the straps on the flow bindings. I showed him how to get the bolts out without messing with anything on the bindings. Went to pick them up and was argued with on everything to get the bindings reattached. Spencer is the person that attempted to reinstall the bindings. First he started to try to loosen the straps. He got them tighter before I could stop him. I told him it wasn't necessary to mess with them to get the bolts in. He argued that it was physically impossible to get the bolts in without removing the straps. I told him his other guy removed them without removing the straps and I've done the same. He rolled his eyes and proceeded to try to install the bases where they were. He was putting the bindings on backward and argued with me about where they should be and where the bolts were in the bases. I looked at the readings they took initially and had the bindings placed precisely where they were in 10 seconds. He then tightened the bolts without doing anything with the straps. I didn't let him touch the other board and it's bindings. Took it telling him I was going to make some changes. I'm not but I saw the readings and realize I can mount them myself quicker and easier. How does someone/some place that deals with snowboards on a daily basis not know how to accomplish a simple task such as mounting bindings where they were. Edge and wax looks okay but the overall experience kills everything for me. I'll...
Read moreMeh, customer service is going downhill a bit after all the consolidation. Feels big and corporate, sterile.
Waited over an hour for rental fittings this fall and have waited a bit every time I have gone in...even when it didn't seem overly busy.
My daughter had great skis which we rented/owned from the year before when they were still CO Ski and Golf. They made us trade them in because the bindings were recalled and they wouldn't adjust them. Fine, but the replacement pair cost me more and were really beat up and old compared to what we turned in. Also, the new rental contracts are confusing and full of hidden fees. Finally, my son got two left boots which was a big issue when we got up to the mountain for the first time this year and I had to rent boots at the resort. When I took them back the next week they did give me new boots but again, they were older and not as nice as the initial pair we had and then they wanted to charge me to readjust the bindings...which was their fault to begin with since they gave us two left boots and they had to be adjusted at the resort for the rental boots I had to rent up there! I ended up taking them home and adjusting the bindings myself.
Overall, all the kids rental gear seemed a lot older, beat up and lower quality than previous years when it was CO Ski and Golf. If I'm going to go to a big box mountain sports store I'd at least expect a good value but I don't see it. May go back to a local ski shop like Larson's next year. Not sure on bikes but seems big...
Read moreThis is for the bike service department specifically. Most of my visits here have been nice and the store staff are friendly and helpful, but the bike shop has let me down twice. The first issue was when I went in to get cable and housing to replace the existing on my dropper post. I asked the mechanic multiple times for an extra foot of housing since it’s cheap I was willing to pay for extra to ensure I wouldn’t have any issues once the dropper was pulled. The mechanic reassured me multiple times the housing would be sufficient and did not give me the length I requested. Of course when I was at home and I installed the post with the new housing it came up about 4 inches short and wouldn’t work so I had to make another run to a different shop to get the proper length housing. Today I took two wheels in that I just installed new tires on but couldn’t seat the bead with my floor pump. The wheels had been set up tubeless prior, and I just needed the mechanic to air the tires up with the compressor. He told me he couldn’t do that on the spot and that I would have to leave the wheels with him for a full tubeless setup and it would be $20 per tire. This is the first time I’ve had a shop not willing to air up tires for me on the spot. I know the customer isn’t always right, but two times I’ve went in for pretty simple requests and they weren’t willing to help me out and meet those requests. This place is walking distance from me but I won’t be using...
