I don't just make complaints I am not willing to stand behind. The boss continues to claim I wanted to be bleached all over. I came in for a weave and didn't like the color. I asked for it to be more blonde. I suggested more weaves, which Ashley said she couldn't do because she actually believed she would have to pick through my hair one by one to do it. I only suggested all over color to fix the mess. But the boss wants to go ahead and hang on to that and act like she was there when she wasnt. Had I wanted to be bleached that's what I would have booked the appointment for.
I got up and left when Ashley said THE BOSS told her she could not even try to fix the bad color. I left when the person who messed up was too immature to admit her mistake and was lying about what occurred. Good thing I keep a recorder on me for times just like this. Trust people? Never and this is why. Seems I'm not the first to complain about this business.
I was sad to have to do this but based on the owners response and this little girls lies to cover her tracks, this was just raised to a new level.
I went to Ashley for the first time because I was looking for someone to correct a bad color/cut from a prior stylist. I specifically told her that I did not want the same color and showed her a picture of the exact blonde color my hair used to be. I also specifically told her not to use warm tones as they turn my hair yellow.
She said she could do it. In the end, she did a decent cut but applied no color to the back so it is really dark. It looks like a two tone color job. It's really bad.
Thing is, I knew Ashley had very little color experience but the salon lied and said she had more. I called in for a color correction, so why would they just send me to anyone? After Ahleys mess, I made a second appointment the following day with another stylist who did have more color experience, to have her fix it. I knew Ashley wouldn't know how. But Ashley called me and convinced me to give her another try. I caved to her pressure and canceled with the other stylist.
When I did go in, I told her probably 6 times that it wasn't blonde enough. It's this dull dirty dishwater color on top. She said she couldn't make it blonde and that she would have to pick through my hair to find each hair that wasn't colored. Never heard that one before.
Then she said she would apply an ash toner to darken it and get rid of the banana yellow streaks. Opposite direction. She was snarky about fixing it, called her boss, and her boss demanded that I come back tomorrow so she could see it because Ashley was "uncomfortable" with it.
I am disappointed that this salon does not honor their services. Upset to have Ashley lie about what happened to her boss. Angry to have wasted my time and $250.00 on another bad color. Most salons will fix their mistakes without attacking the customer and making them feel bad. The boss and Ashley literally debated my hair over the phone within ear shot and ended with the boss telling me they won't fix the mistake.
This is not over as they did not refund the color charge so that I can go to another salon with more knowledge. But that failed refund, will hopefully result in your choice to listen to my story and avoid giving your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: In a VERY timely manner, I got a call from the salon owner, Sara. She was very kind and empathetic and offered to help fix the problem in a couple ways. Because of her sympathy and get willingness to make it right I'm going to change the review. Thank you again, Sara, for jumping on this so quickly and being so willing to help and fix it.
Original Review: I was so excited to try this salon near me because it had great reviews, but I was not prepared for the absolute rip off I got. If I could give negative stars, I would. To start, I called in to get a quote before booking and I was told about $260 (which I later learned was just the STARTING price, no one told me that initially). I go in to see Steph and she doesn't talk at all about what hair style I want, just what length and cuts a blunt cut straight across the bottom. Then I mention that I wanted layers she cuts a couple, choppy layers but keeps the blunt, hacked off look on the bottom. Only after she cuts my hair does she start discussing price with me. Apparently her balayage services (that I asked for over the phone) were almost $100 more than I was quoted.
My biggest mistake is that I kept going. I knew I needed color correcting so I assumed it would be a bit more than the original $260 I was given over the phone. At the end of it all, after hours of hair dye, I turn to look at myself in the mirror and my hair was all the same color! There was no fade at all! I was told by a couple people in the shop that the toner would lighten after a washing or two and it would look better.
To add insult to injury, as I went to the counter to pay, Steph told me that the extra bleach she used would be ANOTHER $70 on top of what she already told me. After taxes and a tip (that I now very much regret) my total came out to $425 for dying shouldr length hair! What an absolute rip off.
I got a call later that day saying Steph wasn't happy with my hair and wanted to have me back in to fix it for free. I hoped this was my saving grace! I went in and talked with her about the price. It didn't feel like she explained how it had gotten SO HIGH the previous trip and how it would have been preferable to kbow about the price beforehand when I asked about it. She was not contrite in the least, acting as if every salon operated on a "guess the final price" standard. She couldn't empathize with how frustrating it was to have a price sprung on me after all the work was finished. At the time all I wanted was a heads up on what it was going to be BEFORE I got to the cashier.
She darkened my roots so that where was FINALLY a contrast between them and my ends. After her lack of empathy before and her hack job my hair the previous time, I no longer trusted her to fix my hair. I will never go back and I will warn all my friends from going here. I can't believe I got so ripped off for a cut that doesn't even look good on me. The ONLY positive that I got from this was that the blonde at the tips is the right color. The fading is choppy, the cut is hacked, and I will never trust this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām pretty loyal to my stylist and usually only switch when I move, they move, etc. I have had a total of five long term stylists. Ali being one of them.
I gave Ali a year before I had had enough.
Conversation between Ali and I always seemed pretty forced but I figured I would give it time as this is something that I could probably deal with but wasnāt thrilled about as I have always been pretty close with my stylist and have a great friendship with them.
From my first appointment to my last, she double booked me with other clients. Every time I had an appointment with her, she spent less and less time with me and more time with the second client that she had booked. The work on my hair was consistently being done by her assistant. She once asked me to come in earlier on an appointment (the day of the appointment) because she claimed that whoever had scheduled the appointment didnāt realize her assistant wouldnāt be there that day and she didnāt do things like hair drying anymore but that if I came in earlier she would do it. Not only was she the one that had booked the appointment for the original time slot, but she asked another member of the salon staff to dry my hair that day (even though I came in early like she asked) so that she could dry her other clients hair.
My last and final appointment, she performed as little of the work herself. Her assistant mixed my color, washed my hair, dried my hair and curled it. Ali only put the color on as she was too busy with her other client.
I never left there thinking that my hair looked gorgeous and trust me, my four other stylists (including my current one Sam) have and currently do amazing things with my hair.
When you are paying $300-$400 to get your hair done and are treated like you are nothing more than a side note, it becomes pretty easy to leave.
The best thing about this salon is the free scrunchies that you can grab on the way out, and that I also met my current stylist Sam (who is amazing) there who left to start...
