WORST PLACE TO STAY IN DENVER!
So I stayed here about a week, in a few different rooms... didn't book a full week at once because a few nights I was able to stay with friends. I came back as needed before the move-in date for my new home.
I didn't mind the strong funky stank of the rooms (see other reviews), the janky chipped furniture/unfinished paint jobs on the walls, or the super slow WiFi... because this was the cheapest room in the area. I knew it wasn't going to be perfect.
The bathroom light, in more than one room, kept flickering. Super annoying because I was unable to do my makeup because the light was either too dim or kept flashing... I felt like I was going to have a seizure!
But HERE'S THE WORST PART..
I wake up early on my 7th day here, for the free breakfast 5am-9am (which btw is mediocre! definitely not worth your time... but I didn't know then & wanted to try it)
I go downstairs in my pajama shorts and a hoodie. Shorts are tiny, but I'm tiny, and they're fully covering my ass (although that's about it)
NOBODY CARES. NOBODY IS NOTICING MY SHORTS... There's 4-5 people in the room. Everyone is tired, in zombie mode just eating their corn flakes.
All of a sudden one of the desk ladies comes up to me, as I'm getting a biscuit, in front of everyone in the room... Telling me I need to put pants on if I want to sit in the breakfast room because children and elderly will be offended...
Now everyone who was just eating their corn flakes, is looking at me. AWKWARD. There's tension in the room. I was super tired so I just said "Sorry, I'm from Hawaii and this is no big deal but OK" and got my food to go back to my room...
I look around. There are no kids. There's like one old lady and she's all the way at the back of the room, doubt she can even see me! Even if she could, who cares, it's just a pair of legs... Have you not been to the beach? There wasn't any dress code signs in the hotel, or in the documents I signed when booking.
I was disrespected so I gathered my things and checked out early.
I decided to make a complaint/suggestion to the corporate office. I said they shouldn't try to dictate people's attire without an OFFICIAL dress code. Even if someone else complained, my personal wardrobe choices should be respected (unless there is an actual code in place). Why is that person's comfort more important than mine? The man in corporate agreed.
So the manager of this Super 8 calls me back and doesn't even apologize. He's super rude and condescending towards me. He keeps telling I have no reason to be offended because it was my fault - since in his 25 years of hotel management he never seen anyone in shorts as short as mine. I'M FROM HAWAII. WE'RE COMFORTABLE WITH OUR BODIES AS LONG AS WE'RE NOT SHOWING OFF PRIVATES. WE WEAR WHAT IS COMFORTABLE TO US. SAYING THIS IS WRONG... IS SAYING MY (HAWAIIAN) CULTURE IS WRONG.
He tells me he listened to the audio and that the employee handled it in a respectful manner. I disagree. UNLESS YOU HAVE A DRESS CODE, you shouldn't be restricting me from any areas of the hotel I PAID FOR, because some old lady was mad or you're jealous I have great legs. I shouldn't be asked to change or leave like a high-school student just because this hotel can't handle the sight of my legs and/or is too stupid to come up with a dress code.
F this place, never coming here again. The Fairfield inn by Marriott (across the street) is $40 more with taxes... BUT the rooms are way bigger/nicer, there's a indoor pool/hot tub, better fitness center, and the staff/management is super helpful, friendly, and...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. This was my group and I first time traveling outside of Cincinnati and we needed a place to crash overnight till we could check into our cabin. I read the reviews online and thought it's only one night it's cheap but boy was I wrong. We got to our room there was blood all over blood on the carpet on the bathroom door on the bed sheets just ridiculous. I contacted the front desk who stated they would send someone up. The guy comes up already can tell he had no intentions on helping. We proceeded to point out the blood and the guy said it's paint, mind you there was nothing red in that room and further more it was defiantly not paint. When we pointed to the stains on the bed he said the room was a smoking room and it's as is. My boyfriend got furious exchanged word with the guy who proceed to say okay brah and he doesn't have to take this. I took photos of the place and went downstairs to talk to the front desk. The lady upfront said there was no vacant rooms I informed her we couldn't stay in the room it was unsanitary. The guy starts then trying to tell me again it's paint and he's going to take photos which I already had and told him to go ahead. I got my reservation through an agency so they did claimed they couldn't give me my money back. I informed them I would work with the agency but we are leaving. The guy goes back up to the room and takes photos when I come back up to tell my party we are leaving. The guy proceeds to get into it again with my boyfriend when he said something about the condition of the room then he says he's from Cincinnati Ohio state Kennedy heights like that what did that have to do with the condition of our room and the guy tells us that we had to leave or he was going to call the police because of my husbands attitude is what he kept saying which I was gonna let him because it was technically a crime scene but I was already so tired from a long day and flight I just continued packing and left. When I went to return my key the woman at the counter mentioned I only had one person on my booking but there is four she hears. I booked a double queen my listing had 4 people any excuse to not look like their in the wrong. I will be contacting the bbb and their local dept of health about the room and send the photos I have I was in very...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!! The staff are nice before you book a room and pay, but that's all they care about. They want money, as much as they can squeeze out of you, without offering anything in return. They also don't seem to want people to stay here for longer than 2 or 3 days. When I booked a room, it was occupied, and I voiced an opinion to the front desk that the room guests may want to extend, but the staff told me even if they wanted to, they wouldn't be allowed because I was booking the room. I thought that was unfair to the guests already checked. A hotel should always give preference to current guests... But I didn't know the full situation so I let it go. I found it odd that they would kick a guest out for nothing, but dismissed it as unique circumstances. Then when I staying there, I saw the manager standing at the door of another room with the door open, yelling at an old lady to hurry up and get out. Again, I felt uncomfortable, but dismissed it since I didn't know the full story... Then it happen to me. I am a diamond rewards member and a business traveler. I stayed at the property for 3 days. On the 4th day, they turned on me. They tried to charge me for my service dog (not an emotional support dog) then they cancelled my reservation for that night because the front desk clerk thought I had a rude attitude (not because I actually did or said anything offensive), just generally he thought I had a tone of voice he didn't like... Then he told me I had 15 minutes to get out or the police were going to escort me out. As I was moving my luggage to my car, the key stopped working so I requested a new one from the front desk. He was supposedly offended by the way I placed the key on the counter, so he THREW THE KEY AT ME. Yes, he actually there the key at me. Then the police showed up and carded me, and took my information, asking me questions like I was a possible criminal. They told me they go there all the time, likely under similar circumstances. So unless you are a working professional who enjoys getting bullied and assaulted by hotel staff and being escorted from the premises by police, or otherwise having your trip cut short just because...I suggest you steer clear of this property. It is absolutely AWFUL! You have...
