Jerusalem Halal Market — Attraction in Wilkes-Barre

Was never going to write a bad review but this time had to do it because it’s been a ridiculous experience yet again at this meat shop. Very bad experience more than once here for halal meat in the recent past. Each time the meat is firstly not what we asked for and definitely not the right cuts or quality. As one example, please look at the pictures I attached here. I asked for a chicken to be cut in pieces. This is what I got. Uneven and broken pieces. NEVER EVER have I had a butcher give me chicken pieces this way. What exactly am I supposed to do with this?? Everyone’s money is hard earned and when as Muslims we venture out sometimes long distances in this country to get halal meat - we should not be treated like this. Sub par meat, cut like a child cut it. May not matter to their bottom line but to lose a good customer should always matter. Utterly disappointed again....

WOW I checked out this place on a tip from a coworker and this place immediately shoots to a top 3 Cheesesteak in all of NEPA. He showed me the freezer to see how fresh the meat was and he doesn't add spices besides salt/pepper since the meat is so fresh. It's a huge portion for $6.35. I can't believe it's been open for 15 years and I'm now finally trying it. If you like cheesesteaks then abs put this on your to-do list. Was invited for Iftar by a family during Ramadan and wanted to bring appropriate halal foods. The gentleman greeted me promptly after finishing his prayer and was very helpful and informative. He explained the popular foods and several other customs that I found useful later that evening during the breaking of the fast.
