If you’re looking for the best way to spend a Sunday in Williamsburg (besides house hunting with me, of course), Second Sundays is it! We’ve been attending this amazing festival ever since its inception, and here we are celebrating its 15th year—it just keeps getting better. The mastermind behind it all, Shirley Vermillion, deserves a standing ovation for curating an event that brings in artists, musicians, and visitors from all over.
On the second Sunday of every month from 11 AM to 4 PM, March through December, you can stroll through Downtown & Colonial Williamsburg and soak in the sights, sounds, and creativity of this one-of-a-kind festival. The vendors? Handpicked. The goods? Unique, mostly handmade, and dangerously tempting. From fine, folk, and contemporary art to handcrafted jewelry, clothing, and books by local authors, if you can dream it, you’ll probably find it here.
And the music? Top-notch. With multiple stages and performances covering every musical palate, you’re guaranteed to discover something that gets your toes tapping. Plus, there’s a beer (and cider, seltzer, and wine) garden, food and dessert trucks, face painting, and craft projects for kids and adults—making it the perfect family-friendly outing.
As a real estate agent, I always give my clients a shortlist of must-dos in Williamsburg, and Second Sundays is permanently on that list—right up there with visiting Colonial Williamsburg and finding the perfect home. There’s truly nothing else like it in the state. So whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor: mark your calendar, bring some cash, and wear comfortable shoes—because you’re going to want to explore every inch of this...

Read moreFirst time attending 2nd Sunday. Over 180 artisans, musicians, food vendors, food/dessert trucks & a beer/beverage garden. Food was good from the food trucks, had a chicken empanada & lobster bao bun. Vendors a little pricy but quality products. Restrooms available but unfortunately some parking lots that were once free now require paid parking, they are not clearly marked and no kiosks available on site, must make purchase online. Had a really good crowd and music was pretty good, usually 3 or 4 musician's playing throughout the venue at...
