We came from 5 states as my family of 11 arrived at this lovely home to find the most exquisite accommodations. A vacation gift from me to my kids brought rave reviews from everyone. Each bedroom suite or room was very private, beds very comfortable and each had its own bathroom and TV. Some rooms are totally shut off from others yet opened to the large dining room where we all gathered each morning at 8:30 for a buffet breakfast with an array of eggs, fruit, bacon, sausage, biscuits coffee cake and much more. The home has 2 living rooms with ample seating in each. You could participate in lively conversation in one or watch sports events in the other. This gave my adult children much to discuss as we rarely gather like this. I highly recommend renting the entire house for family or a friend's gathering because in addition to all I've said, the location was the best...within walking distance to so much Williamsburg has to offer. Thank you Laura to you and the delightful staff. A very memorable family...
Read moreI stayed 7 nights and did not want to leave. In fact, I originally booked this B&B for 6 nights but stayed an additional night. When you walk in, you’re met with beautiful decor, a beautiful secretary & stained glass lamp, stained glass panel, antiques, beautiful wood floors.. setting the mood for a visit to Colonial Williamsburg. The room, “Franklin Study,” was decorated in period time, very pleasing to the eyes and very comfortable! The bed & pillows were very comfortable, much like home. Breakfast was always on time @ 0830 and it was very good & full filling. Coffee machine made fresh coffee from coffee beans.. several choices of regular coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, or hot water, etc. available all day. For late night snackers, there were jars of pretzels, cookies, etc. the kitchen was open for ice, microwave for reheating leftovers, etc. just like home. I plan on staying here again, next time I visit Williamsburg and the surrounding area. I love this “home away from home.” Thank you for a...

The house and rooms are quite small, Coffee service was ... in the bedroom closet (?). There wasn't any decent space to relax outside of our room x a small sitting room with a "stuffy feeling" about it; all else was locked up Even the dining room is locked before and after breakfast so there was no socialization possible with other guests. No games puzzles, and the wifi was spotty. Outdoor sitting areas were not maintained well (cushions looked like they hadn
t been cleaned all season). And, they have dogs that don
t particularly like unknown people. We've been to dozens of b&b's and so far Applewood offered little more than a Comfort Inn so this is at the bottom...
