Recent 2023 review: This is an enchanting date spot that my husband and I cherish—a place we reserve for special occasions, indulging ourselves in its splendor only once a year. This remarkable establishment never fails to deliver exceptional cuisine and impeccable service that leaves us in awe. To ensure a seamless experience, I highly recommend calling ahead to secure a reservation.

One dish that continually captivates our palates is the delectable steak frites. The perfectly cooked steak, accompanied by a generous serving of golden and crispy fries, creates a harmonious symphony of flavors that is simply irresistible. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful execution of the dish never cease to impress us.

For a divine conclusion to our meal, we find ourselves irresistibly drawn to the chocolate mousse. Its velvety texture, combined with rich and indulgent chocolate flavors, creates a dessert that is nothing short of heavenly. Each spoonful is a delight that lingers on the taste buds, leaving us with a sweet memory to treasure.

Beyond the culinary delights, the service at this establishment is truly remarkable. The staff consistently goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Their attentiveness, knowledge, and warm demeanor add an extra touch of elegance and make us feel truly pampered.

If you are seeking a venue for a special date, this place is an absolute gem. Though we reserve it for rare occasions, every visit reaffirms why we hold it in such high regard. Immerse yourself in an evening of extraordinary food and impeccable service, and let the memories created here become cherished treasures.

Review from five years ago: This is such a cute small bistro. I ordered the pot roast open face sandwich and it was one of the best things I have had in a long time. I must note, their bathrooms are clean and beautiful. I really liked the sink, and it really peeked...

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had, especially considering the per-person price tag. From start to finish, it was an exercise in frustration. Service was shockingly inattentive. While we were offered some delayed refills, the attention to our drinks was wholly inadequate, with empty glasses often sitting on the table for long stretches. Appetizer plates and soup bowls cluttered the table throughout the entire dinner, adding to the chaos. One server reluctantly removed a single soup bowl but left the rest—completely unprofessional.

The food itself was equally underwhelming. The French onion soup lacked flavor. The Blue Talon cocktail tasted like fruit juice. The fondue was served cold and tasted like low-quality queso—truly unacceptable. When we returned it, we assumed it would be removed from our bill, but it wasn’t. That felt like an insult on top of the poor quality.

To make matters worse, only three of the four entrees we ordered arrived at the table. The fourth was never delivered, and shockingly, no one even acknowledged the mistake or made an effort to rectify it. Adding to the overall disorganization, we were never offered dessert, leaving us to wonder if the staff had simply forgotten about us.

The atmosphere didn’t help either. The restaurant was playing loud classic rock music, which felt completely out of place for the setting and made it impossible to enjoy any meaningful conversation.

For the price we paid, this experience was inexcusable. If you’re looking for attentive service, flavorful food, or even basic competence, I suggest dining elsewhere. Blue Talon Bistro needs to take a serious look at both their service and...

My recent visit to Blue Talon Restaurant in Williamsburg left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. Despite confirming beforehand that dogs are allowed on the patio, I was asked to leave by the manager due to a complaint from another customer regarding my dog's presence. Although the dog never was away from under my table for a single minute. What was even more upsetting was the discriminatory behavior exhibited by the manager.

Not only was my dog's behavior not disruptive or inappropriate, but the manager's response was completely uncalled for and discriminatory. Rather than addressing the situation calmly and professionally, the manager chose to single me out and ask me to leave without proper justification. He mentioned that customers are leaving due to my dog's couple of barks! When asked who and when, no answer given.

As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of whether I have a pet with me or not. The manager's actions not only ruined my dining experience but also left a sour taste in my mouth about the establishment as a whole.

I urge the management of Blue Talon Restaurant to reevaluate their policies and ensure that all customers are treated equally and with dignity. Discriminatory behavior has no place in any establishment, and it's incredibly disheartening to see it exhibited by those running restaurants in a place of significance for the nation, Williamsburg, Virginia.

I will not be returning to Blue Talon Restaurant and will be sure to share my negative experience with others. Discrimination should never be tolerated, and it's important to hold businesses accountable for...

My family is vacationing in Williamsburg and it’s our first night in town. We were very excited to dine at blue talon. We were “greeted” by a very rude hostess. We ordered the two cocktails which were subpar to say the least but no biggie I was not upset about that. We started with the muscles which were pretty good.. not the most flavorful sauce but I was still not sweating anything. The children’s Mac n cheese was very oily and more of a ziti in my opinion. Meh ok it’s a French restaurant I certainly wasn’t expecting craft Mac. My chicken Caesar salad was really disappointing.. not much chicken and the chicken was included was so dry and chewy. My husband had the meatball sandwich special and he loved that. Our absolute biggest grievance was that not a single dish was bussed from our table. Every empty cup , the appetizer dishes , our entrees. It all just piled up. When my husband asked for the check he was trying to balance the to go boxes on his lap as there was no room on the table for them and the server just dropped the check and walked away. We were packing up the kids very aggravated and my husband clipped the cash for the bill under the bill on the clipboard provided. The server walked by and asked if we were good and we said yes and he walked away but he was just checking on the bill. He didn’t see the cash so he doubled back and said “did someone else cash you out?” We said no the money is here under the bill. He took it and just walked away. As former servers we both couldn’t believe the lack of bussing of the tables ESPECIALLY for a fine dining restaurant. Photo provided of every dish that we had to pile up to make room.
