I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided by the on-site maintenance staff at Station Village. To everyone who wants to move to this complex, please read this before you made the biggest mistake! Despite multiple requests and complaints, several repairs in this townhouse have not been addressed or even acknowledged in some cases. The maintenance staff's lack of responsiveness and reliability is unacceptable. Whenever we called they’ve been extremely rude over the phone, they act like they’re paying me to live in this complex, not us paying them and dealing with all the problems that we’ve been dealing with. They fail to arrive at the scheduled time. My fiancé and I have taken days off or requested remote work for a day only to be stood up by the maintenance staff on our scheduled appointments. This level of unprofessionalism is deeply disappointing and has greatly affected my living situation. I will list each issue below for your reference. Garage floor - Upon moving in (5/1/24), our garage floor was not painted. The maintenance supervisor stated that he would be able to come back to paint the floor. This conversation was had after we had moved in our belongings. The floor was never painted. Garage Keypad – Our Garage keypad was not programmed upon our arrival. After receiving our keys, the maintenance supervisor stated that he would come back later in the day to program the keypad. The supervisor never returned. A maintenance request was made and eventually fulfilled by the maintenance staff. Pre-move-in sanitation – The townhouse did not appear to be cleaned before our move-in. Many of the rooms appeared the have the same debris as they did when we arrived for the viewing of the townhouse 2/12 weeks prior to our move-in. Dryer Machine – The drying machine has not worked since arriving at Station Village. Maintenance has attempted to repair the unit on multiple occasions. The initial repair attempt was unsuccessful, and the maintenance worker stated that he would have to order parts and return. The maintenance repairman returned but was unsuccessful again, even after stating that the dryer was working before leaving. After a 3rd attempt at repairing the dryer, it was deemed that the dryer was not working due to an obstruction in the air vents connected to the dryer. The obstruction was supposedly cleared but the dryer still does not produce heat in any drying cycle. Washing Machine – The washing machine grates were rusted and needed to be replaced. We have not had a functional microwave since moving in. No heat is produced by the unit. Maintenance stated that they repaired the microwave, but this was not the case. Kitchen Cabinet – One of our kitchen cabinets has been broken for over 3 months. The maintenance repairman showed up but stated they could not fix the issue because they did not have the correct size screws. They stated they would have to come back later but did not. Chain lock Installation – The maintenance crew was installing chain locks to everyone’s unit in our courtyard. The maintenance crew was only supposed to enter units that did not lock their padlocks. I was home at the time and witnessed maintenance opening padlocks to complete the tasks. This was also done at my location as well. This is entirely illegal and a breach of the lease. Garage Door – Our garage door has not worked properly for over 2 months. One of the 2 large springs holding the mechanism in place has broken. The garage door appears to only open and close from one side causing the track and door rollers to become uneven. The door makes violent sounds while opening and closing and is a huge safety risk along with a potential financial liability. We now do not use the garage door as frequently as we are afraid that the door will fall on our vehicles or even worse, someone...
Read moreHi all, I normally do not give written reviews but after living here for 3 years I’d like to educate anyone considering this place on things to have an informed decision.
Pros: I initially liked the location of the complex especially with it being situated in between the garden state and the turn pike, getting around NJ is great. You are also close to a variety of grocery stores and take outs. It’s very convenient to be in arms reach of things if you think of things last minute. The proximity to the train is also pretty convenient if you want to get to NYC or to the airport. Parking spots are assigned. The size is decent.
Cons:
Management. I think the biggest problem with this complex which you might notice from other reviews is the management. To give you all clarity, the office at the front is the LEASING team and NOT the management team. I think Shawn is a wonderful person on the leasing team and was very approachable and helpful for information. As far as management, I personally also like the other reviewers did not have a good experience with management. I had once got locked out of my place at 9pm and called multiple times, leaving voicemails, text messages, to the management number and was not able to get ahold of anyone. I had asked the security patrolling for some assistance but found out that she is only responsible to keep an eye on issues near the train station and doesn’t really deal with the complex. I found it pretty disappointing that the security patrolling does not even secure the complex which is very misleading. That night I unfortunately had to figure out what to do until the next morning when my roommate was back to let me in. The mail room is also very poorly managed. I had lost over $100 worth on a delivery as the door was not locked and the room was ransacked about a year ago. They have tried to improve this since and are using the lockers more frequently however the door was still accessible to open without a key just before I moved out.
Noise (depending on your unit). I had moved from a block closer to the leasing office to another closer to the train station. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that my window facing the train tracks was actually more of an issue than anticipated. Many NJ train operators honestly have no regard for the time of day and will honk their horn for an unnecessarily long time which often would happen close to midnight when you are trying to sleep. I did adjust to this issue, but I would recommend if you do feel strongly enough about this place, try to choose a unit not facing the train tracks or a block elsewhere.
Neighbors. I unfortunately had a bad experience with neighbors. The unit above me always had a lady stomping on the ground. The tenant below me had this obnoxious subwoofer/base and would frequently blast the music in the evening which was disruptive. I think in this case it’s just bad luck on my part and not the complex.
Overall would I choose this place again? I think so, but definitely a different unit. But if I found another place with a similar price and location and better management, without question I’m not...

We are living here for last 1.5 yrs and I just want people to know that the management team is an absolute JOKE. We had a bully situation with our parking where someone would park their commercial work vehicle next to us in a way we cannot get in or out and we also have many scratches on our car thanks to him (I am sure the person knew that he was blocking our driver side car door, but kept doing it anyway). We complained 4-5 times over maintenance tickets and emails about it and no action was taken for it ever, until one day we decided to park in a way that the other space cannot park his big vehicle next to us. Voila, we get a call with warning that our car will be towed !!! Imagine it look 2-3 hrs for them to call us to tell that, when I have been trying to complain about the parking issue for last 1+ years and they said they can’t do anything about it. It was only at that point they offered to change our parking spot. Now comes appliance breakdown situation. Our microwave went out 4-5 times in last 1.5 yrs, it sparks and goes out triggering alarm sometime. We have zero microwave breakdown incidents in atleast last 10 years until we moved here and it is a frequent issue now. Maintenance would always put a solution that will go out in few months again. Also they are taking their own sweet time to fix it, everytime I call they will say it’s not emergency. But if you are not fixing a kitchen appliance for more than 3-5 days, then is it even in your priority list? These apartments are expensive rentals considering how far we are from the city, least we can expect is good service. But it might be too much to expect! Whenever we called maintenance line most of the time person on other side will be very very RUDE acting like they’re bothered by our calls and as if we are living here for free! They ignore that we are paying premium rent and still dealing with all the problems that we’ve been dealing with.
Oh and I can’t forget the rusty plastic looking racks of the dish washer. When we moved in we saw rusty damaged horrible racks in dish washer which was replaced upon request, within a year the replaced ones are also looking rusty and peeled. I wonder what we are eating when we use our utensils that has all that rust and plastic melts all over…. The use cheapest and Worst quality items for maintenance...
