I’ll try to be to the point. I had a large order which ended up being 3 carts full of stuff. From the beginning I told an associate I was going to have a large order and needed to leave my carts somewhere as they filled up as I’m only 1 person/shopper. I was in the store for about 2 hours and started working on my 3rd cart. I had 2 carts up front where I was told to leave them. Many of my items were large and heavy bulk items. As I was at the deli waiting something told me to check my carts up front as I had just told 2 other associates that these 2 carts were part of my large order so 3 associates were aware. When I looked one of my carts that i spent at least an hour working to fill was gone. The manager had to get the associate who took it and at this point she had returned some of the items to the shelves. The manager was nice but seemed to blame everyone else, even me, the shopper, saying I should have told her. Umm no, I told 3 associates... they should have told her or left a note on the carts. There needs to be a designated place for large orders . After finally finishing my order of 3 carts I realized not only were some items missing, but I also had items in my cart that I had not put there so I’m guessing when my cart was up front they threw returns or other customers unwanted items in my cart. Some of the associates were very helpful.. Mario was awesome and the girl who checked me out with very curly shoulder length hair and another female with long straight hair who helped me find things were awesome, but the female manager made way to many excuses for the issue with my carts from nobody told her to the girl who put things back was new. Girl, you are the manager.. they are a reflection of you.. js. Anyway, it ended up taking way too long to shop because of all of these issues and having to return items that were in my bags/cart that I didn’t put there. This was a very bad shopping experience. In addition, the seafood Dept employees spoke practically no English and could not help me or told me wrong info about where an item was located and other seafood items they had no clue about. The bakery had no bread . The bakery/deli ppl were also clueless. The only bread was prepackaged bread, not fresh bread or artisan bread/rolls at the bakery/deli (not a good variety of options). There also was no hot food available at the deli like rotisserie chicken or fried chicken. The store was pretty dead when I was there between 6-10pm on a Monday night , yet deli ppl were slow even though there was like 3 or more of them and no customers in line. Overall, I personally would never shop here again. It’s hard enough to shop in a store that you are not familiar with but even worse when most associates can’t direct you to lessen your time spent circling/pacing aisles. There needs to be more consistency on service and employee communication and there should be more of an effort to make life easier and more organized for shoppers. If you want ppl to spend lots of money you have to make it seamless for them to do so. I was grateful for the manager and the male head cashier helping me to my car due to me having 3 carts, but since I previously lived in FL and at Publix this is the norm i feel like this should be offered especially when a store isn’t busy. After, going to my car and realizing I had paid for items that I didn’t put in my cart I came back inside to return these items (prolonging my shopping time again) and was told I had to go to customer service, but nobody was there so I had to stand around waiting for someone there to help me. This store def didn’t feel like a competitor of Wegmans or Shoprite when I was there. I like to be in and out and felt stuck there longer than necessary. Just a poor first impression overall. The positive was it wasn’t packed so it wasn’t hectic with ppl running into you in the aisles and parking was much easier than a Shoprite. Perhaps earlier in the day is ran...
Read moreThis supermarket has so much potential meaning the variety of Caribbean foods and spice that I am use to from my homeland Jamaica is amazing. Their low rating is so to customer service and sub prejudice interactions . Meaning on 4 interactions where the cashier Energy would change as soon as myself or my spouse are ready for check out warm welcomes and interactions with the costumer in front of me …when it’s my turn silence or a nasty look would follow. This was my 4th and final visit heard the cashier greeting the man in front of me smiling wishing him a good morning ….when it was my turn silence so I broke the ice and said good morning no reply just a stare …at the end of transaction I said thank you nothing just handed my receipt very cold. This is my thing why sell cultured and ethic food if that’s not the “type of people” you would like in your store. Another interaction women standing out front she let the “yt” man go even greeted him with have a nice day . Then stopped me I asked her why she said it protocol I then point out that she did not stop the man in front of me and he had way more items then I did in my cart. I only had 10 items. She then pretended like she didn’t understand what I said and gave me my receipt with sorry. This is disgusting in 2024. And to be a ethic supermarkets it’s really sad. I will head back to H-mart where my service is welcomed and...
Read moreI already had a SuperFresh valued customer card from the one that closed at Tano Mall, so I've been shopping at this one since they first opened. I've put up with the past-expiration dated products, fruit that rotted a day or two after I bought it, and items that were checked out higher than the posted price, but last Friday was the deal breaker.
I found they charged me .80 over on the bread and $5.00 on the Bubba Angus burgers. When I went back and showed them the photos, The told me the Angus burgers weren't on the sale sign. I showed them there weren't any posted prices for the Angus and Bubba turkey burgers and that they were all mixed together. NJ law states that prices must be posted either on the product or on a sign. Since neither was posted, they should honor the posted sign. Makes me wonder if this happened to anyone else.
I asked for the manager, but they refused to speak to me and instead, sent the girl out to tell me to go home, get the burgers and bring them back and they'll give me my money back. At the price of gas nowadays, that wasn't going to happen. I was there to purchase more, but I decided to just get the .80 back and left. Since there are other stores around, I...
