Braiding House — Attraction in Woodlawn

Yesterday I got my hair done and some lemonade braids. I've been coming to them so maybe four years I haven't been in some time I've got all types of braids box braids, long twist. I didn't notice that they have new braiders in so maybe that's why my work is a mess. First of all. I told the lady when I get lemonade braidsthey are usually 180 and they are small. She informed me that lemonade braids are 220. What's that is crazy I sent her a picture. Yes, the lemonade breeze was smaller, but she informed me that she'll do them a little bit bigger than the picture and when she said a little bit bigger, that mean that they would be medium small right so as she's braiding my hair I see that they smaller in the back, but when she gets up to the top, they seem like they were a little bigger. She did not give me no Cake to go around me so the hair won't get on me. She did not give me a mirror to look at my hair and they told me that they don't take cards which I've used my car out there before so they said they had an ATM and that they needed to walk me down to the ATM. I pacifically stopped them right then and let them know you do not have to follow me to the ATM. I'm gonna bring the money back so I was debating rather should I give her the 180 but I went on here and gave her the 180 because I didn't even wanna like start fussing with this lady. The lady also smelled. She smelled really bad and she was really nasty. I called her afterwards and she was nasty as well. This was the first time that I ever been upset with the work that they have done on my head. Usually, I am very happy and I don't know if it's because it's new Braider there or because I came in the afternoon. Usually I am there at like six 630 and maybe it better Braid is there but this particular time horrible it makes me want to just take the braids out because I'm used to small lemonade braids, but I'll keep them in for maybe two weeks. I'm not saying that they do other people braids a mess cause I'm not quite sure like I said I have been to them like four years and they never disappointed me. I've had lemonade braids at least three times and this particular time 220 for lemonade braids is crazy. 180 for medium big lemonade. Braids is crazy as well so I will not be coming to this location anymore to get my hair braided. I was highly upset and I need better management more professional and they need to deal with their hygiene if they wanna be in front of people...

I came here to the security square mall location to treat myself for Mother's Day. Upon entering the braiding house around 9:00 am. 1 maybe 2 people spoke out of 5/6 braiders that was there. I signed in and the owner I believe asked me what style I wanted and to show a picture. * I wanted Fulani flip no boho that they had pictures and videos of on their Instagram * She consulted with the braider that was going to do my hair and told me the price of $220. Okay fine. I didn't get seen until around 11:00. I sat in the chair and then my braider asks to see the style I wanted again. No problem. she began speaking in her native language and another braider came over. Disclaimer: I do have thin sides but its braidable. * The braider then begins to braid my hair and says she can't do my original style and asks me to pick something else. I did. she says she couldn't do that style, and her colleague braider comes back over and advises her on what to do. I'm irritated because it's not the stye I wanted or length. I wanted mid back with curly end but got shoulder length with curly ends. At the end of it all I got some cornrows to the back with the same edges and sides they said they couldn't braid for Fulani braids and some knotless for the same price of $220. I think it should have been cheaper than that. All while I was getting my hair braided customers were walking in to get simple styles like 2-4 braids to the back and they were turning them away. not because they didn't have enough braiders because they did, it was because they want people to get what they want them to have. Then the customers that did walk in and decided to wait was sitting there for HOURS. It was just overall not for me. I will continue to braid my own hair. I will not be back. And for y'all to tell customer after customer they can't get the style they want because your braider " can't " is def...

This place is a mess and I wish I would have checked here first. These ladies are mean, greedy and do not care about us as individuals or the health of our hair. Went in for a style they have shown on one of their socials, but it just wasn’t for me. The so called manager is so loud and boisterous for no reason. She doesn’t know how to treat and respect her workers nor does she respect the customer. She lies about so many things starting with the hair they have. She claims it’s a blend, which it would be a mix of synthetic and human, it is not. I checked the pack and nowhere on it does it say anything about human, blend or mix. The quality is super cheap. Do yourself a favor and bring your own unless it’s simple braiding hair you need for box braids. She also makes up prices as she goes. No one else is allowed to tell the price but her . I listened as she told multiple people different prices for the same thing. I paid way more than I ever had for any style and it was not worth it. They talk and yell in French the entire time which severely limited them from doing clients hair quicker. The worst part was that they do not care about cleanliness or their own personal hygiene the environment of the salon. They stink so bad, no deodorant. They walk around like lazy slobs. They talk about the clients disrespectfully in French when a question is asked, especially if it’s a complaint or concern. The manager does not use her active listening, I tell her one things she did another. She only hears her own voice. They do a good job with basic styles only. Terrible experience and I will not visit again. What’s sad to is the lack of engagement with clients. Why is their a great divide between us. They act like they too good to try to engage with us.
