Think I've answered this before, I found the cemetery to be peaceful and enormous, a surprise indeed. Its well looked after and has many many markers for its military people who gave there lives in many wars, and military excursions..its worth a visit, I didn't thinknit would be but I was wrong, very wrong.. go take a look it will not harm you, in fact the opposite it might stir and move you ....

Proud to see they honored all who lay here by putting the U.S. flag in front of each headstone, known & unknown. Last year Covid won, this year our service members won. Thanks to those who put out the 18,700 plus flags. It was a beautiful place to remember my mom & dad on Memorial Day!

I love to come and honor this cemetery. I always try to bring my kids to educate them and honor those who serve our country. It is always well maintained and crowded with volunteers. More volunteers are welcome for any events here

This is a beautiful space, but sadly it is not available to most of the community in which it is embedded.

You are prevented from running on the paved paths or walking your dog through the cemetery. In two years of living in Marietta, I have rarely seen anyone on the grounds. You can look from afar, but the restrictions make it impossible to visit.

Because our tax dollars support this space, I would hope that the folks in charge could consider a compromise to the rules. If cars can loudly drive on the paved paths, then I think runners, walkers, and dogs should be welcome as well.

It is sad to see such a beautiful space...

The cemetery is laid out in such a way that makes it easy to find any grave. It is very well maintained all year round. Some of the Civil War heroes are also laid to rest here. The "Unknown Soldiers" have their place as well. I am so proud to say my father is here. I am grateful to all those who fought and gave their all for future generations, and to be able to visit their resting place and say a thank you is just spine chilling.

I hope any and all who are interested will...

I will Never Forget The Memorial Service Administered by the United States Army for my Father with “Full Honors”. Their Chaplain was so Compassionate to My Mother, Brother and Myself. In Hearing the 22 Gun Salute and Closing with Taps. My Enormous Thanks to The Marietta National Cemetery Staff, who Coordinated this Event! On This Veterans Day, 2017, I give my Thanks to “ALL” who Placed the Wreaths On all the Graves and Sharing these Photographs! God...
