The pharmacist on 3/9 around 6pm should have better customer service.
I scheduled an appt for Covid/flu testing for my daughter. I waited in line but saw that they had a QR code to check in. I did that, the message prompted me to wait in the waiting area and someone would call me. We waited about 20mins and I felt like something wasn’t right. So I step back in line to ensure they had us checked in. Once, I proceed to the line the pharmacist came out to ask the reasons for the people who were waiting. I once again hoped out of line to tell the pharmacist my daughter’s name and explain that I checked in for my daughter using the QR code. The pharmacist proceeds to tell me that she was unsure that she would be seen before there break at 6:45pm. I stated we’ve been waiting for 20mins and again explained that we used the QR code to check in. She says, you have to let them know at the front so they can get your paperwork. (This is frustrating because I’m going off what the prompt message says on my phone-which was to sit in the waiting area) So, I’m waiting in line and the pharmacy technician calls my daughters name and says unfortunately the pharmacist wouldn’t be able to do the testing for my daughter because she was not certified. (So confused at this point). First I was told I had to check in so my paperwork could be printed off but they had to been aware that we were checked in their system because the tech said she was not certified to do that testing which they knew the reason without me mentioning it. Then I’m frustrated because the pharmacy is not in sequence with their electronic check in process. Granted, after re-reading the bulletin in smaller font at the bottom it does read to check in with tech but in larger bolder letter at the top are the steps that I follow which prompted us to the waiting area. So we stayed for 25mins with no testing done. The little extra unnecessary comments “well I’m just telling you, what you have to do” and the lack of empathy with a sick child is just uncalled for. The technician was sweet and understanding which showed she cared. She did tell me I could reschedule and come back tomorrow for the flu/Covid testing to visit the other pharmacist. I just don’t understand why would Walgreens allow customers/patients to book an appt if the on duty pharmacist could not fulfill certain request. I just re-booked at my nearest Walgreens which I don’t usually have issues with because I would hate to run into this...
Read moreI was diagnosed with a nasty COVID-19 infection and was prescribed 3 drugs by a doctor. It was sent to my local Walmart pharmacy, who did not have the drugs in stock. After calling a few places, this location had all 3 drugs I needed and was 24 hours. I called at 11:45am on a Friday to transfer my medications (one of which was Paxlovid which I needed to take that day because it was the last day I could take it) and at first the person on the phone said it would take 1-2 hours to get my meds. I called 3 hours later checking on the status of my meds and then they told me it could take up to 4 hours later. I called about 5 hours later and then they told me it would take up to 24 hours later. I called the next day at 3pm (over 30 hours later) and they told me that 24 hours is not a guarantee. They refuse to call into the local Walmart, as they are claiming Walmart is the issue. When I call Walmart, they mention that they have nothing from Walgreens requesting my prescriptions. Meanwhile, the doctor refuses to cancel and resend prescriptions, and says that Walgreens should do their job no problem.
As a healthcare worker and a public health professional myself, let me express my deepest disdain for what has been happening, as I cannot be the only one suffering from this issue. For one, these medications can make or break the COVID-19 infection and there were a few times while waiting I almost wanted to go to the ED for my symptoms. Serious neglect such as this is harmful to the health of an individual, and can cause worse off outcomes to someone worse off than me, like hospitalization and/or death. The conduction of all of this can be grounds for a lawsuit, and it is sad that the problem will not be fixed unless innocent individuals lose their health and suffer.
I am absolutely appalled by the conduction of this pharmacy and how it serves the population, which is also an underserved community that warrants better care to help improve the lives and the health of this beautiful community. The workers here to not care about someone's suffering, pain, and adamancy to get better. The rudeness, lack of compassion, inability to communicate, and lack of transparency is concerning on multiple levels. It is a shame and it breaks my heart.
I hope you will see this review in good spirits to do better for your community who is deeply suffering considering the low ranking of this pharmacy...yet y'all have all the meds we need....
Read moreI don’t know what’s going on w/Walgreen’s or if this was just this store in Oak Lawn, but I arrived on April 29th, 2018 at approximately 12:45AM & I was informed at the drive-thru 24 hour pharmacy that this location was not filling prescriptions therefore not in operation. Who ever heard of such a thing for a 24 hour pharmacy that is supposed to be manned 24 hours! I’ve been filling my prescriptions since day one at Walgreens when they were I believe the innovators of computer record keeping some time in the 1980’s I think it was, so you’re talking over 30 years & not once during this time-frame have I ever encountered this problem. The whole purpose of a 24 hour Walgreens pharmacy is to be open 24 hours. Their should be no excuses for not being open to dispense prescriptions unless a bomb dropped, heaven forbid. People need their meds ASAP at any hour of the day or night which is the function of a 24 hour pharmacy. Or else why are you offering this service & the customers are obviously here for a reason—to get their meds in a timely manner at any time of the day or night. Previously I have also waited way too long for the prescriptions but still remained a customer. And I’m very disappointed in reading other people’s comments stating this location has run out of their specified medications. Big Pharma & especially Walgreens are certainly supposed to know to keep the meds of THEIR customers stocked up—that’s what their innovative computer system was intended for; so this kind of stuff doesn’t happen. That’s Walgreen’s priority as that’s what they started their business for in the first place. That’s like McDonald’s saying they ran out of hamburgers! So did all the pharmacists call in sick—Walgreens owes the customers an explanation. Was the computer system down? Good excuse or not, they owe customers free scripts for the ones they were not able to fill on this day or some comparable offer or deep discount. The owner/manager of Walgreens should be monitoring these comments & make amends! And they are obligated to retrieve my info/script records from the OTHER non Walgreen’s pharmacy they referred me to in order to add to my on-going 30+ year record of prescription service with them. Now I have a gap as if I was never prescribed anything as far as Walgreens is concerned because the meds were not dispensed from there on today’s date as I was forced to go to another pharmacy! This...
