My feelings are beyond hurt. I’ve been to the whistle countless times and I had a phenomenal experience each time, until tonight it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at the whistle our server. JACKIE screwed the entire night up I had first time visitors with me and I promise you, I bragged on the whistle, and when I say, I bragged, I was bragging on the whistle and to my surprise. what a slap in the face We were seated with glasses of water where we had to wait for her to come back to place our order we placed our liquor drinks, as well as our food drinks together our liquor order set at the bar longer than it should to the point it was watered down Our food order was placed nearly an hour after we had placed the order with her at this point, we requested the manager who was very polite, professional and understanding, especially after she heard Our side of the story because it looked as if we had just put our order in, but to her surprising we’ been placed our order. The young lady had just put our order in the system. Maybe 5 minutes before the manger came over at this point, Jackie wants to come over to the table and apologize about everything. We were being so polite because again our food is being handled as well as our drinks and the hands of others so what do you do at this point you give a friendly smile but say to yourself, I’ll never come back here again. I’ll never say it’s racism never because I’ve never got that from the staff at the whistle but I will say this our table was overlooked countless times I would never ever return. I am so sorry that I feel this way, but all it takes is for me to have one bad experience somewhere especially a place. I’ve been comfortable with. I come in there after work and sometime just for lunch. during the week if I could take this night and my time back, I promise I would that’s how bad I feel right now and to top it off, we were in there 3 to 4 hours longer than what we wanted to be in there. This is no...
Read moreRuined Birthday Surprise. Date of Event 10/18/2022 I was surprised on my birthday with family and friends at the Whistle. When I arrived 4 people sat at a table that seats 6. The table I sat, seated 6 also. All seats were occupied. 1 table seated 4, all occupied. (This includes two of my sisters who walked in and the two friends already at the bar) Three tables total. 14 customers. The waitress informed us we couldn't sit separate. Although, there was an arrangement we could sit at all 3 tables. However, I wasn’t there for that conversation. We asked for a manager to explain the issue. The manager said the 4 people sitting at the table for four had to move. The plan was to move my four guest to sit in the aisle with 2 chairs on the ends of the two tables that sat 6. Then seat two at a table of who had already began eating, a table already with a bill and that they did not know. There was plenty of tables. They have two sides in Oaklawn. Plenty of room for other customers. No reserved tables signs or booked parties for the night. They don’t combine tables for larger parties. The manger’s only logic was “people could come.” I have frequented this restaurant in the past years. Both in Oaklawn and Tinley park. I have seen customers sit at tables, stand in the floor, sit at the bar and never once on an EMPTY night see a manager squeeze anybody together. The Whistle was always a nice vibe. Nobody else had to move from their table that held an empty seat for a crowd that “could come.” Only us. My feelings are hurt, a surprise ruined for something so ridiculous. With no logical or professional explanation. People hadn't eaten. I never ever do the skin color cry. I don’t even write reviews. I normally just leave and just never go back. There is poor service and less than ethical business management everywhere regardless of skin color. And 80% of the time owners do not care.
But I felt targeted. For whatever reasons. It was unprofessional and...
Read moreI recently visited The Whistle Sports Bar & Grill on Oaklawn and had quite of an experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The Whistle is a sports lover's paradise, with numerous large screens displaying various sports games, creating an energetic and exciting ambiance. The menu at The Whistle offers a wide range of delicious options for both food and drinks, but I had my eyes on the Mango Habanero wings, the perfect meal for a sports bar. As someone who loves the combination of sweet and spicy flavors, I was excited to try the Mango Habanero Wings. However, I must admit that I didn't quite deliver the mango flavor that I was expecting. The presentation of the wings was appealing, with a generous serving of wings that were cooked to a nice crispiness. The sauce had a bright orange color, with Mango chunks which looked promising. As I took my first bite, I was expecting a burst of sweet and tangy mango flavor, followed by a kick of habanero heat. But, the mango flavor was subtle at best, and the habanero heat dominated the taste profile. Despite the lack of prominent mango flavor, the wings were still tasty. The habanero sauce had a good consistency and clung well to the wings, providing a sticky and flavorful coating. The wings themselves were cooked well, with a nice crispy texture on the outside and juicy meat on the inside. One of the highlights of my visit to The Whistle was the friendly and welcoming staff. They were attentive and made sure that our dining experience was enjoyable. The sports bar atmosphere was lively and fun. The Whistle also has a great outdoor patio area, but it was too late into the night for us to try it out. I highly recommend The Whistle Sports Bar & Grill on Oaklawn. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was energetic...
