RON the former manager was the best thing about the Thrift Store. Our community lived him as he was compassionate about his job and sincere and gracious with his customers. Customers routinely stoped by solely to see him. First UH management prohibited him from having any contact with customers and eventually terminated him. Is it because his health insurance costed the organization to much? Is it because egos were bruised due to his excellent reputation with the public? Hmmm

Read moreFirst and foremost, if you can't find them - like I couldn't at first - they're in what used to be Elite Cosmetology School (they're working on getting bigger and better signage). I so missed having my favorite thrift store just up the street (when they were in JT) but seeing their new digs and what they've done with the place... well... all is forgiven. I was able to spend at least an hour in the old store but now that they're two or three times bigger I realized on my first visit I shoulda packed a lunch. The prices are still crazy great, areas are designated (ladies, housewares, the 'man cave') and set apart, and the store is, as always, immaculate. The staff there is so warm and welcoming and always eager to help. They close early, at 3:00 I think, so rest up and go there tomorrow! Unity Home Thrift it's good to have you back and I'll see...
Read moreIt's the first time I've ever been and I was traveling someplace else. And as I drove by I saw it and as I drove back I stopped. They are a wonderful non-profit helping domestic violence survivors. There were lots of clothes and shoes and other things for purchase. I went in the back room where it was $1 for each item whether it was a purse or shoes or clothes or scarves or whatever. And I left with 20 items. I paid $20 plus $1.75 for tax. And I went home with five dresses, three pairs of shorts, one pair of pants and some tops. It was a great bargain and helped...
