I paid $30 for a sloppy Joe. Hear me out.
My girlfriends had a dinner group reserved there one evening. Congratulations on the opening of this upscale restaurant 👏🏾 I was looking forward to coming here since putting up the signage outside. The logo is 👌🏿 love it. Got my attention right into your doors. The setup of the restaurant is spacious. We had a large group and the table we sat at was nice and allowed everyone elbow room. "Ohh this is niceee" IYKYK 😌😁 The drinks were crafted by an artist. The girls enjoyed them. 😉 Everyone got a little bit of something from the menu. If you eat a lot, the sides are good portions, and also shareable, 2. Our waitress was presentable with a friendly smile each time. I ordered the Mojave Veggie Burger. Black beans and mushrooms based. It comes with fries by the way which were salted good. I can admit the burger itself, flavorful, the citrus date spread, drop that recipe. I barely touched down into the bun and bean puree came out the side along with everything else. I was able to cut down the middle and then reassemble my "burger". From the one half, I only ate half of the half. This is where my 3-star comes in and some people will disagree with me. Big dinner group, round table, I'm sitting in the chair at the beginning of the circle so she's next to me, side to side. She did briefly walk over and asked the group if we were enjoying our food. As a waitress, not only mine but there were 2 other plates still full with just a few bites taken. She could've easily seen my plate and asked me if the burger wasn't to my liking. The macaroni as well, when we declined to-go boxes, you didn't raise any concern to ask if we didn't enjoy our meals. I had a full plate of sloppy Joe. The burger is upsetting because what was that? Overall, the girls enjoyed their time together there, some enjoyed the food, and others didn't. That's fine, you can't make everyone happy. But to not acknowledge the decline of to-go boxes at the amount of...
Read moreEverything was on point! The decor, the energy, the tunes, the staff, the food! I started with the bacon wrapped dates-SUPERB! The little Gems Salad-AMAZING! Sealing the deal with the Pork Chop-GOODBYE WORLD! I made a reservation for 1 and was walked to a cozy bench seat table dimly lit by a modest table lamp. Your menu can be found inside the record album cover placed atop your dining setting. You're close enough to other diners that you can hear their conversations, but the feel continues to be cozy and quaint. The hostess was a sweetheart and the staff was so attentive. You can google local news features outlining the restaurant's 2025 debut, "When deciding on how to implement the restaurant's concept, it was important, the owners said, to establish a "community-first" approach, which they learned from working under former Pappy & Harriet's owners Robyn Celia and Linda Krantz." The food is lovingly curated ala Pappy&Harriet's and presented akin to Spaghetti Western. I'm not a local but I felt right at home. The entertainment that night was a disco dance party that was taking place just beyond the restaurant's glass double doors. The music faintly wafting into the dining room. I made a reservation so that I wouldn't take a chance not scoring a seat. It seems to be a toss up whether you really need a reservation around this area. Better safe than sorry. It was such a magical night, I can't wait to find...
Read moreDined in the bar area at this new place in Yucca Valley and loved it. Totally worth the drive up from Palm Springs! My husband and I and a friend shared several items but these were our favorites. Cactus & Citrus Ceviche - I didn't realize when ordering this that it was vegan but still enjoyed the flavors. (I'd love it even more with some seafood in it ;-) Lamb Meatballs - served cool on a wonderful Chimichurri yogurt. I used the my last bit of pita bread to wipe the bowl clean of every little bit of the yogurt. ... and now thinking about it I'm craving it! Salmon - cooked perfectly and had great flavors Little Gem Salad - the favorite of the night!!! The roasted beets and spiced pecans with the creamy goat cheese crumbles - OMG Yes Yes YES! We all wanted more! We also had Mac and Cheese and the Mojave Fire Chicken so were too stuffed to try dessert - Next time we're saving room! Small but nice wine list - Try the Albarino paired with the salmon or the Gem salad - perfection!! Cocktails creative and good too. Just the right amount of spice on the Mezcal Mojave Gold. Happy to have a reason to drive to the high desert and escape some of the hot summer days this year and totally looking forward to trying the entire menu and will make a reservation and request to sit in...
