We stayed at spark location Yucca Valley we had booked under the previous name of the hotel SureStay Plus. We did not know that the hotel was changing names. The branding on the hotel was for Spark but we did navigate using the address so we were able to find the location. The location was great the staff was very nice and accommodating the room was large and clean and we would stay here again. I am reading the overall as a 4 due to the fact that complimentary breakfast was included and mentioned in the hotel description that it was a little more than continental I believe the wording was Deluxe continental and stated there were sausage, eggs, waffles. The breakfast area only offered bread products; muffins, bagels, toast. No protein. This was disappointing because when I book I look for this convenience which saves time. Our stay was March 2025. I also use this for price comparison and will book a hotel that has higher per night if a breakfast with protein is included. I'm not even sure if there was coffee/tea or other beverages, we had to leave to eat elsewhere. We booked the King Bed Suite. Plenty of outlets and a great desk if you need to work.

I was charged a $30 early check in fee (to check in before 3pm although there were available rooms) which is the first time at any Hilton i’ve been charged that. They were up front about the charge just never expected that, especially as a Gold Hilton Honors member in which I frequent Hilton. Small gym and just bagels and cream cheese/cereal for breakfast. It was a best western before and still has that vibe to it. It’s a clean hotel just lacks some of the basics you would normally have at Hiltons. If you just need a place to sleep and shower, you’ll be fine. Bed is comfortable and shower has good pressure. Mexican restaurant next door is 24/7 and that was very convenient. No netflix app on TV but supposedly you can cast your phone but my TV wasn’t connected to the internet so that didn’t work.

wish i could explain exactly how odd this hotel is. the service at night was abominable, we checked in around 8pm and walked up to the counter, only to wait for the girl there to talk to someone on the phone for upwards of ten minutes. the rooms were outrageously large with high ceilings, which sounds wonderful, except that they were so empty that they literally echoed. the vibe was creepy. the service was bad. the location was super difficult to find. id rather have just slept in the car. strange asf please take my advice and don't stay here

Nothing like a Hilton.

Spark Hotel feels more like an upgraded Motel 6 than a mid-range hotel. The room was recently renovated and clean, but it lacked some very basic amenities. There was no coffee maker in the room—something I’ve never experienced at any hotel before. To get coffee, you had to walk to a separate building.

There were no individual shampoo or conditioner bottles—just wall-mounted dispensers, which I can understand from a waste-reduction standpoint. But there was also no bottled water provided, and while the room had a microwave, there were no paper towels.

The breakfast was very minimal—just a bagel, cereal, and not much else. Compared to other hotels in this price range, such as a Best Western, the offerings fell short.

Overall, the experience didn’t meet the expectations typically associated with a name-brand hotel. Basic touches like in-room coffee, bottled water, and a more complete breakfast would go a long way in improving the...
