Charming Night Cruise on the Han River – A Must-Do Da Nang Experience!
My evening on the Han River Cruise (Du Thuyền Sông Hàn) was one of the most memorable and relaxing parts of my trip to Da Nang. It offers a unique perspective of the city at night, with shimmering lights, iconic bridges, and a gentle river breeze. Everything—from ticket purchase to boarding—was smooth and enjoyable.
Ticket Station & Booking Experience: The ticket stations are located right near the cruise dock area, typically along Bach Dang Street, across from the Novotel. They’re easy to find, and there are plenty of signs and friendly staff to guide you. Most ticket booths are well-lit, open in the evening, and offer various packages depending on the cruise boat. I appreciated that pricing was clear and fair, and some booths even accept online reservations or QR payments. There’s no pressure or confusion—just relaxed service.
Boarding Process & Safety: Boarding was organized and stress-free. Boats are docked nearby and leave promptly on schedule, usually around 7:30 PM or 8:00 PM. Staff made sure everyone had life jackets and brief safety instructions were given before departure. The boats are clean, stable, and well-equipped for a short sightseeing cruise.
Cruise Experience: Once on board, it’s a calm and beautiful ride down the Han River, passing by Da Nang’s famous bridges like the Dragon Bridge, Han Bridge, and Tran Thi Ly Bridge, all lit up beautifully. The highlight was seeing the Dragon Bridge’s fire and water show (on weekends), right from the river—truly a special view!
Some boats have live music, traditional dance performances, or even rooftop decks where you can enjoy a drink and the cool breeze. Whether you're with family, on a date, or just exploring solo like me, the atmosphere is very romantic and peaceful.
Final Thoughts: The Han River Cruise is a simple yet magical experience that I highly recommend. It's affordable, relaxing, and gives you a different view of Da Nang’s charm at night. From the easy ticket process to the friendly crew and the glowing cityscape, everything was handled with care. Don't miss this lovely evening activity when...
Read moreMy wife and I did the Sunday night Dragon Bridge cruise. I will say I think your satisfaction with this experience can vary based on which boat you get, who is on the boat with you, your expectations and, of. course the weather. There are around 25 boats that participate and they vary in size, design and the offerings on the boat (food, drink, entertainment). We paid $150k each. Our boat gave us a plate of watermelon and a bottle of water. Our boat was the last to leave the port, the last to arrive at the Dragon Bridge and the last to get back to Port. The whole trip took less than 1 hour. Our boat was full of a very large Chinese tour group that we having a very fun time singing karaoke very loudly. Getting out of the lower level of the boats to take in the view can be challenging on some boats. The boats have varying positions to watch the 10+ min Dragon show. Some are closer than others. We had walked to the bridge 2 days earlier and watched the show from a fairly close position (which is easy to do). We both felt that perspective was better than the boat. If you can make the boat ride on the river a full experience and just enjoy the ride and city lights, then you may find it to be a good time, but I don't think it is the necessary way to experience the...

From the moment you step aboard, the thoughtful touches, like the provided water bottle and refreshing fruits, set a welcoming tone. However, the real treat begins as the sun dips below the horizon and the city lights begin to twinkle. Cruising along the Han River at night unveils a spectacular panorama. The illuminated cityscape reflecting on the water is truly captivating, creating a magical ambiance. But the highlight, without a doubt, is witnessing the Dragon Bridge fire and water show from this unique vantage point. Opting for the 8:15 PM local time cruise is highly recommended as it perfectly aligns with this mesmerizing display. Watching the dragon breathe fire and spray water while gently gliding on the river is an unforgettable experience. And just when you think the evening couldn't get any better, the dance performance on the cruise adds a delightful cultural touch. This graceful display serves as the perfect "cherry on the cake," enhancing the overall enjoyment of the journey.
