We recently visited Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi, and overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The aquarium is located inside Lotte Mall West Lake, and it’s definitely one of the more modern and spacious aquariums we’ve been to in Vietnam. The layout is quite large, with various themed zones that guide visitors through different aquatic environments — from freshwater rivers and tropical forests to deep sea and coral reef habitats.
The temperature inside was comfortable, not too cold like some aquariums tend to be, making it easy to spend a few hours exploring. Staff members were friendly and helpful, although most of them didn’t speak much English. Thankfully, using a translation app made communication much smoother and allowed us to navigate the place without any major issues.
At the entrance, brochures are provided to help guide you, but they are only available in Vietnamese. Still, the visuals and signs throughout the aquarium were enough to understand where we were and what we were looking at.
The entrance fee is around 400,000+ VND per person, which is slightly on the higher side for local attractions, but reasonable considering the size and quality of the facility. Food options are available inside, and while limited, they’re decent — a hotdog or bun costs about 30,000–40,000 VND.
Overall, it’s a well-maintained and family-friendly destination. While it shares similarities with other aquariums, its size, organization, and friendly atmosphere make it a good spot for a half-day outing in Hanoi, especially if you’re already in the area...
