Here it is. If you’re seeking a really nice aircon room, don’t book the 14 bed dorms. The aircon only reaches the first couple of beds. What you want is the very top floor room, mixed 6 beds. The aircon there reaches the whole room. Thank me later.
I booked the muggy 14 bed room and was considering just going to another hostel, but the evening staff member was happy to move me to the colder room the next day. I followed up the next morning and the day staff member was aware of the arrangement. I was impressed and grateful. They also kept me up to date as to when I could change over to the other room.
The bahn mi are also nice and worth a try.
The showers, no matter when you take one, are just a shade up from cold. They’re tepid at best. I only stayed for three nights so it didn’t much bother me but keep it in mind.
Also don’t walk through the bien vue walking street late at night when cutting through to the hostel from the shuttle bus. You’ll get lost and have to go down one of little dark alleys. Stick to the main streets.
And the reception is open 24/7, i think check in is ok until 11pm though. You need to bring cash for the room payment and also 100,000 dong for the refundable deposit.
I found the bed and pillow surprisingly very comfy and the pod was ample in space. Internet worked perfectly for me, even on the very top floor. Also to keep in mind is that there is no elevator at all.
I would recommend staying here, all up. The bins do get full and cleanliness isn’t great but cleaning is done daily. It’s a cheap little place to stay that’s close to a...
Read moreWorst hotel I’ve ever been. Please read carefully before booking. I was sent to a room that was under construction. No beds or doors installed. (Under construction, not reforms). Apparently reception didn’t knew about this, so after saying sorry a few times they send me to a new room. This room, which wasn’t in use was nothing like the pictures. Toilet wasn’t working and there was stocked poop resting on the toilet, the toilet floor had several dead cockroaches, the beed sheets where stained with blood, the floor and walls were dirty as if there has been some kind of war in there. I asked the reception 4 times to come clean, each time they would said ‘yes, we’ve already sent someone, it’s clean now’. Nobody came, from 12 to 20. Reception guy was friendly but completely useless, I ended up leaving the following day (3 days earlier than planned) and moving to a cleaner place. Note that they have working cameras inside the rooms, which it’s illegal in most of the word (not sure about Vietnam, so I just unplugged it). This it’s nothing like the pictures they show, it’s discussing how dirty it is and the personal it’s just incompetent. Highly recommend to go somewhere else and not waste your time here.
Ps. Not posting pictures of the toilet so you don’t throw up...
Read moreAlthough the price here is cheap in comparison to other hostels, it shows in the cleanliness. There were bed bugs! Me and my 3 friends found them in our beds and we’d all been bitten. We had to check out at like 2am! The man at reception was not surprised by it. He was good about letting us check out, and gave us a number for the hostel that we could contact to discuss getting our full refund back, which we did! On top of the bed bugs though, as we were walking back up the stairs, a massive rat jumped down the stairway! This was the last thing we needed at 2am whilst trying to take our bags down the flight of stairs. Although the staff was lovely and location is good, it just isn’t somewhere id recommend staying! It was a massive bug bear having to change accommodation at such a time in the night, and then pay for all our washing which was many kilos each. I had 15kg to wash and the hostel only gave 200k for all 4 of us to wash our clothes. This wasn’t even from the hostel itself. This was the workers who gave it out of their own kindness. The boss said we’d get free washing if we did it through them but obviously washing our clothes through the hostel that had bed bugs wasn’t really an option. anyways, avoid the chaos of bed bugs and rats and...
