Trianon is perfect for those wanting low cost accommodations with plenty of space in a great location. The residence seems to be a combination of units used for permanent residents and units for short stays. We (4 adults) stayed two nights in a large unit on the 5th floor to close out our trip in Buenos Aires. For $123 US, it was definitely a great deal. |Our unit was a 2 bedroom residence with hardwood floors throughout, along with a roomy living room and sizable kitchen. It had one master bedroom with bathroom, and a guest room with two beds and it’s own bathroom. It also had a decent sized balcony over looking the central courtyard. It wasn’t fancy, but served its purpose well. The kitchen came fully stocked with utensils, and the bathrooms had towels and typical toiletries.|Some reviews have made note of rooms needing an update or renovations, but for those who use rooms simply for sleep and showering, you can’t beat the size and price in such a great district as Recoleta. We returned from everyday’s travels in the early evenings to open up the sliding glass door to the balcony and sat around the living room coffee table to enjoy a bottle of Malbec and plan where we would head for dinner around 9-10pm. |There is no pool, and the workout facility is essentially a few cardio machines in a shelter out in the courtyard. The breakfasts offered in the morning were basic continentals, but did feature made to order eggs (just be sure to let someone know immediately what your room number is). So if you are one that is more accustomed to hotels with more extracurricular options, this might not be the best choice. But if you are more interested in experiencing the city and wouldn’t mind a large place to sprawl out after a long day of exploration, then Trianon is definitely a place to check out. |It’s location near the necropolis and several nice parks and great shopping make it a must to include on your list of possible hotels while...
Read moreI've traveled to Buenos Aires many times for both personal and business trips. In December I spent a week in BA with my husband and two small kids (1.5 and 2.5 yr olds) and this hotel is the absolute best place to stay in the city with kids. We actually stayed here for a week, traveled around Argentina and then stayed here again for a night before we returned to the states. We booked a two bed/two bath apartment with an additional crib. Both apartments were great. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean, spacious and the kitchen has all the necessary things needed to cook or heat up a meal for the family. We hooked up our laptop to the TV so the kiddos could watch their cartoons and they were even able to nap in complete darkness in the bedroom. The hotel is one block from a grocery store and about 2-3 blocks from the cemetery and other parks. PERFECT location. The employees couldn't be any nicer. One actually walked 2 blocks to another hotel where we originally had a reservation (and it was TERRIBLE), and helped carry all of our bags to the hotel. I think my husband made friends with everyone working there. The place was so comfortable and just so perfect for the needs of a family that we will be staying there every year when we return to BA. It's not fancy, it's not modern, so if you are a couple, probably not the place to stay, but for a family who needs space,...
Read moreMy wife and I love Buenos Aires and go there as often as we can. This time we decided to bring the kids along and chose the Trianon Residence Recoleta because of the excellent reviews. We weren't disappointed. This apart hotel is located in my favourite part of Buenos Aires, the Recoleta neighbourhood, and is within walking distance of many of the main attractions, which was a blessing, as we were 6 and taxis only carry a maximum of 4 passengers. The apartment we were given was on a second floor looking out onto a courtyard, which was great as you could not hear the noisy streets. It is basically a very spacious apartment with an ample living and dining area, two large bedrooms with two beds each, a large bathroom and a very large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. It also has a decent kitchen and even a laundry area. It has terraces overlooking the courtyard, a lot of natural light and is maintained pretty well. There is a daily maid service and very good breakfast included in the price. The staff are all very helpful, but Agustín was exceptionally nice. All in all we really loved this place and I would definitely return if I go to Bs As with my...
