My family had dinner at Jose Luis yesterday and while eating we were already planning on when to return. It’s such a wonderful break from the usual parilla/meat food that you typically eat in Buenos Aires as their menu is mostly seafood. We ordered a paella which tasted amazing and had a generous portion of seafood. We also ordered a grilled fish called Chernia and it was juicy and fresh. The place is big and spacious and can accommodate big groups. They even have a lovely outdoor seating area. Some plus factors to add; the lady who served us can speak English and their menu has a Spanish and English version. I would have given them 5 stars if not for their pricey $60 servicio de mesa! Prices were also on the expensive side so as much as we would want to frequent the place for their delicious food, sadly we could only do so perhaps on...
Read moreThe restaurant is tucked away in a cute shopping alley and once you entered is a heaven of seafood. It's rare to see a seafood restaurant with variety in BsAs, so I was happy to stumble upon Jose Luis. We sat outside and they had a really nice fountain view. They promptly gave me an English menu which was nice. We ordered mussle provenzal (meijinlone provenzal), and arroz con mariscos. The mussle was fresh and they didn't skim on the garlic and parsley so it was aromatic, althou I think they could do with a bit more salt. The arroz con mariscos was delicious, the rice was al dente and coated beautifully with the sauce, the seafood was generous and fresh, each bite of rice was velvety and rich, one of the best I've had. Jose Luise was a pleasant surprise, I can't wait to go back and try some more...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant after searching for seafood restaurants nearby. We had decided what to order before going to the restaurant to avoid typical language problems because we don't understand Spanish and they don't speak English. We ordered the Fish and Seafood Casserole for two. The food was pretty for the two of us. It was delicious. It came with two jumbo shrimp, fish, mussels, prawns, many penny size scallops, and small octopus tentacles. We paid about $76k ARS which includes 7600 cover charge. I am not sure if it's common in Buenos Aires restaurants. While we were sitting at the table inside the restaurant, there were many biting midges...
