Rude service experience. We came back from a hike one day to find that the kettle in the room was gone. I went to ask the front desk about it and the lady with the glasses was extremely rude. We were never told there’d be a cleaning service so it was a complete shock to know someone had gone through our room because our beds hadnt been made nor towels replaced once. After the matter, it came to our attention the garbage and toilet paper had been changed during our stay. The receptionist however accused us of breaking it and said she couldn’t give it back until she spoke to a manager and refused to tell me when the manager would be around. It wasn’t broken, we just took the filter off because we couldn’t open the lid without manually pushing it off. They didn’t bother asking to explain that because we just got accused of damage first and foremost. Then when I went to ask to speak to a manager, it was the same lady I had to ask and she made a face of disgust at me with hand gestures to match the attitude she spoke with. Absolute worst customer service I have ever received at a hotel. Also the wifi doesn’t reach half the rooms at the hotel and it was the weakest signal in the common room. Do not recommend for work. The breakfast was great though and manager was polite with the issue except we didnt get a replacement kettle and the manager was upset about my review and approached me about it. I’m giving the place three stars because the rest of the staff was helpful and polite, but it was by far the most uncomfortable a place has...
Read moreAt first, I loved this hosteria. Staffs were super helpful, knowing well about El Chalten and the trails. However, when the village was out of water, the management of hosteria was terrible. We were out of water - toilet and bathroom since the midnight of January 10th. Toilet began to smell terrible. In the afternoon of January 11th, some rooms start to have the water back - ours, not. Some took shower but we couldnt take shower after 10h of hiking. We can't even use the toilet. Hosteria didnt know which room had water and kept answering 'town is out of water and we dont know when it will be back. The rooms that have water back is random.' The staff even said to me that other hotels dont have any water. At last, my husband and I checked out, without being refunded. We paid $120 for smelly toilet which doesnt have water for 19h! We went to few shops in town and heard that other shops and hostels got the water back. I was also told that friends at other hostels had water back - even though it was cold. I was super disappointed and I can't believe that they didn't take any measure in face of...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights over New Years and had a wonderful stay. Initially I was a little concerned having read some of the past reviews, but this place exceeded my expectations and was pleasantly surprising in many ways. It is updated in the lobby and has a nice breakfast included. The rooms are simple but the beds are comfy and the rooms are very clean. At first we thought we’d be stuck with a cold shower, but it turned out or hot water wasn’t turned on, so ask the front desk if it’s cold! They also have some board games & maps in the lobby, as well as beer, wine, snacks & coffee/tea available, and will make you a packed lunch for a day hike if you ask (cost is reasonable too, around $460 ARS). If you’re looking for a cozy, budget-friendly spot to...
