My friends and I stayed here for a few nights after finishing the W Trek in Patagonia. This is a family-run lodge with very few cabins and it was lovely. ||||Gonzalo is very responsive on emails and thru texting on What's App. His wife Veronica is also very friendly. We arranged for a roundtrip pickup from El Calafate bus station (about 2.25 hours to El Chalten) and also organized a day trip to Perito Moreno Glacier. We found the transfer prices to be fair per person considering the distances and we were allowed to pay in either US dollars or pesos. ||||The cabin was so charming, there was one bedroom on the ground floor with a small kitchenette and cable TV and a day bed. Upstairs were three twin beds. We stayed here in mid Nov. and it got pretty hot staying upstairs but you can ask them to turn the heat down (we got back too late and didn't want to disturb them but I would kick off the covers!). Bathroom was good but bring your own shampoo/conditioner. ||||The lodge is also very close to the trail to Cerro Laguna Torre but the town is very small and you can definitely walk everywhere within 10-20 minutes!||||I'd recommend it for a cozy convenient stay...

Read moreThis was our second visit to this region of Patagonia and on our prior trip, we took buses from Puerto Natales to Calafate to Chalten. This time, we flew into Calafate airport and wanted to bypass the bus experience and get right to Chalten. After reading previous excellent reviews about Gonzalo's private transfers, I decided to contact him. On the way to and from Chalten, we were picked up on time in clean vehicles that were comfortable and held all of our backpacking equipment easily. Gonzalo was a great conversationalist and definitely one of the best parts of our transfers. We paid half up front ($160 USD) via paypal and paid the rest in USD when we arrived in El Chalten. The price was definitely worth the time-saving convenience and the opportunity to hear about Argentina and the region from a very friendly local. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Gonzalo again for more private transfers as I hope we will make it back to the region in the future. Thank you so...
