The Villas of Cairns — Hotel in Edge Hill

We stayed at Villa number 2. Hosts were exceptionally responsive before, during and after our visit. They have set up the villa perfectly, no complaints. It was exceptionally clean.

We had our two dogs with us and although its a 1 bed 1 bath villa on a small block, the fully fenced back yard worked for them.

Only downsides for us were:

The airport flight path over the villa was annoying at certain times of the day. Not the owners fault - it also was in a generally leafy and quiet area but very close the Cairns City. Very convenient.

Front of house veranda was not able to be enclosed (no fence/gate) so could not sit out there with the dogs with the breeze better than at the back of house. Dining table and chairs to front rather than more comfortable wicker chairs like villa 1 had.

Outdoor chairs in the back yard were uncomfortable - cape cod plastic version of that style of chair.

Great location, friendly host, cosy and clean space We needed a space that allowed our dog to stay with us and this was perfect. It’s a small astroturf courtyard but that doesn’t matter because there’s so many lovely places to walk nearby with the dog. The Villa had enough cooking equipment and appliances that we didn’t really need to use anything from our car camping setup which was great. We were a little disappointed that when a power outage occurred for about six hours on our final day, we weren’t offered any compensation or alternative and this was the one and only day we planned to relax indoors in the AC after a busy four days out and about. But understood the unplanned nature of it and managed to still enjoy the day. There’s plenty of restaurants etc nearby if you’re into that you are spoiled for choice with food and coffee and the Botanic gardens are beautiful too. Would stay again...

We stayed at the Tropical Pool Villa with our extended family for 10 nights and it was the perfect home away from home! Everything we needed was supplied, home was spotless and the bungalow at the back was perfectly located and spacious enough to accomodate the two us + our furbaby! Once the extended family left we moved into the Bamboo Villa and once again felt totally comfortable, relaxed and at right at home. Location of both Villa's is wonderful and a walking distance to Edge Hill shops, restaurants and the stunning Botanical Gardens. Hosts have also been very attentive and responsive. Will definitely...
