My fiancé took me here for my birthday dinner. And it was so good we came back for breakfast the next day. Nico, the restaurant manager was an outstanding host. The pre-dinner cocktails were sensational. For food we got a mixture of the duck ragu pasta with gluten free penne, espresso Brie with gluten free pumpkin bread and rocket pizza on a gluten free base. My fiancé is gluten free and they were very accomodating for this. We felt very taken care of by the staff. Before we left we’d already decided we’d be back the next morning for breakfast. For breakfast, if you’ve got a large group, a booking might be a good idea. We were from out of town so didn’t realise how popular this place was. Now we can see why. The breakfast lived up the already exceptionally high dinner quality. I got the chilli and prawn linguine (before 10am, yes, how good?), fresh, light and plenty of prawns. My fiancé got the eggs benedict with pulled beef (a very welcome combo) as well as two extra fried eggs (she’s strange like that). No complaints on my end though as I got to finish off the parts she didn’t... holy smokes... the pulled beef... 10/10. Do yourself a favour and give it a try. Again, despite there almost not being a free seat in the whole place, Nico and the staff were an absolute delight. It was busy but not chaotic. Food and drinks were prompt. All 5’s. An excellent place if you’re from out of town visiting, do dinner and breakfast. And if you’re a local... well... I’m jealous. If/when we make it back, I’ll be doing the gluten-full options for dinner. The pizzas looked phenomenal. Highly highly recommend.

I personally, can’t go past a green wall. A real green wall. I, personally, can’t go past a Reuben Sandwich. A real Reuben Sandwich. If on a budget, as I am / was / is and will be forever lol - I can’t go past a $7 hot sweaty heavy fnq arvo Sauvignon Blanc. I can hear you mocking me saying : savvy B? How very late 80’s early noughties. We’ll blow you. This is FNQ baby and long as I have long legs, I’m gonna fill em with savvy B - ya savvy? Bella the hostess with the most for the win. Her recommendations of individual deep fried ball of rice (Arancini for us fancy peeps) and child size bowl of chips on a budget (pocket fingers of deep fried polenta and salted encrusted delish for us savages) were too delish for me to resist. Live long green wall, best Reuben Sandwich under this fine sun and an elegant Sauvignon blancy plonk. Over and out x

definitely would not go back and DO NOT recommend. i simply wanted and ordered and iced chai latte and they brought it out and it tasted like a SODA. like a coca cola. i didn’t want to say anything but they came and asked me how it was. so i told them i couldn’t drink it and that it wasn’t what i ordered. the girl said she was sorry and that there was nothing she could do about it. she asked if i wanted to order ANOTHER drink and that i would be paying for both of them. i said no. after i was ready to leave i went to the counter to pay and they tried to charge me $10 even though i pointed to the menu and showed them it was $5 for a chai. we finally settled on $6. most restaurants/cafes will try to fix something if THEY are the ones that get the order wrong. i am still so shocked. it seemed like such a nice place. don’t be fooled

Rude Waiter, Clueless Management

I visited a couple of weeks with my husband who had been there before. He told me that customers here just grabbed a table so we did too. After we waited for quite a bit another table was just occupied same as us and the waiter brings the customer water and menus. He ignores us.

I complain to the front desk service and the waiter eventually comes to us. You can tell he is spoiling for a fight. He tells us that we should have waited to be seated. I know this to be non true, not just because I was told so, but also because I checked how customers that came after us were seated. Of course there is no apology for missing our table....

I let him have his say because I really do not need the fight just then. He mistakes this for permission to continue.. He keeps going and going !!! I have to tell him 3 times "Enough" and he does not stop until I raise my voice for the whole shop to hear. And STILL he has a final jab. By that time I am furious. There is the quite time I needed....

I decided to call management and lodge a complaint rather than posting on Social Media. The manageress claimed that they have changed their process and now people are supposed to wait to be seated at front of reception so that they can scan the COV-ID QR code. After I explained to her that the problem was not the waiting or the waiter missing us but his sharp tangue ( twice might I add, because she kept repeating the same excuse) , she tells me that her stuff is not rude!!!!! Clueless much?

So I made it all up???

By the way since all their clients are ignoring the "New Seating Process" why do they not bring the COV-ID QR Code at the table??? Very few people are actually checking in... We didn't and nobody else while we were there. Like I said clueless...

The food was absolutely sensational, and the cocktails and juices were deliciously refreshing—definitely a highlight of the visit. The initial drink service was quick and accommodating—despite a few mix-ups with orders, the staff handled it well and swapped drinks with a smile when we didn’t like them. However, placing our food order turned into a frustrating experience. We waited over half an hour to order, seemingly because the staff wanted to stagger orders to avoid delays for other tables, despite us arriving over an hour early.

The staff did accommodate some of our requests, like adding extra people to the table and catering to dietary needs, which we appreciated. However, when we asked for a classic cocktail (as advertised on the menu), we were told they couldn’t make it because the bartender wasn’t available. The alternative? Wait half an hour for the bartender to arrive. This was disappointing—classic cocktails should be standard knowledge for any bar staff. A review of their training and preparation might be in order.

Additionally, basic dining etiquette like clearing tables promptly when guests are finished eating, ensuring all cutlery and drinkware are properly set, and providing regular water service—especially when dining outdoors—is essential. These small but crucial details were overlooked and impacted the overall experience.

On a positive note, they welcomed us to bring our own cake and even offered a round of drinks as an apology for the inconvenience, which was a thoughtful gesture.

Overall, the experience was good, with exceptional food and drinks, but this review serves as a reminder that proper preparation and attention to detail are crucial when hosting a...
