Tanks great as always. Second time I have seen BS perform Julius Caesar. Totally different plays, actors, stage settings and choreography. Good and bad acting, some players superb. Can't lose really. Bravo. I liked the huge difference between the two. The first play I saw, Mark Antony's soliloquy was lost, his voice so soft the words were not audible and his setting cast to the rear of the stage. This version highlighted MA's (woman) scenes and the actor was superb. Brutus, Cassius, Mark Antony and Octavius carried the show along with a troupe of extras that played multiple roles. Staging brilliant as is every B.S. play along but choreography lacked somewhat in comparison to previous plays, i.e. Macbeth and previous Julius Caesar. Some of the casts voices could use work on projection as a lot of their words were lost angling left or right while engaging other players. Some acting needs working upon to get a real flow to match the body language with the dialogue. All in all pretty good but needs a bit more effort as depending on who held the stage the play experienced palpable engagement and disengagement with the audience. Looking forward to seeing more once the civic theatre opens and they have a professional sound stage and...
Read moreThe monthly markets at the Tanks are worth a visit. There is a variety of stalls with lots of food options too. The gallery is always open with an exhibition to visit for free. The day we went there was a very talented young singer/guitarist performing on the stage outside the gallery. Parking can be hard to find. We parked at the Yellow Arrow walking track car park and walked the path around to the Tanks. It is about 1km each way. The markets are on the last Sunday...

It may seem smaller than most art centres if you are a tourist visiting but it is well worth a quick look during your stroll of the Botanic Gardens. I also hope they expand, of course I guess it is really depending...
