We were relocated to these apartments, as the ones we had booked had water damage and couldn't accomodate us.||Well I'm glad we stayed here. Lyn made us feel exceptionally welcome from the moment we walked in. We were greeted with a warm smile, followed by some humerous banter mixed with a professional attitude. I felt at home straight away.||We had a couple of small issues, if you could call them that. We were notified of a scheduled maintenance that was planned in advance, whilst expecting minumum occupancy. As we weren't meant to be there anyway we completely understood. Post maintenance we had lost power to part of our apartment. Lyn was quick to climb up on a chair in our laundry, to rectify the problem straight away! Now thats service! A pizza we had in the freezer had defrosted and that was offered to be replaced without a fuss...||On another occasion our water had stopped working. Again communication and an explanation was relayed very clearly to us. This was rectified quickly and didn't really cause us any problem or inconvenience.||For former (or future reviewers) that complain about these kind of issues, please remember 2 things:|1) It is not Lyn's or any other staff members fault that problems arise. There are a lot of apartments there. Do you expect for them all to operate flawlessly and without failure or maintenance??? If you do, ask yourself, has anything in your house/mansion ever broken down???|2) If you are a reasonable person and do actually understand that point "1)" above happens to us all, be mindful that the people trying to make your stay as comfortable and trouble free as possible, do THE BEST THEY CAN. They are NOT robots, and any kind of accomodation (including fancy hotels) break down.||This is an apartment, and advertised as one. If Trip Advisor (or any other www or app) lists it differently (eg: a hotel) this is not their fault. Complain to the 3rd party site listing it, as it is they that have made the mistake.||We really enjoyed our time here. We wanted an apartment, not a tiny stuffy hotel room. We had a LOT of room four family of 4 to sprawl out. The apartment was in great condition. If people experienced lesser quality keep in mind most of these are likely privately owned, so consistency across all apartments should not be expected. If you want a shiny one with great views, ASK FOR IT.||Highly...
Read moreThe Breakers is an older building with individually owned, self-contained apartments. This means that each unit is different and there is no room service etc. It was perfect for our family and the type of holiday we were looking for. ||1) Location: it is in the middle of two of the most popular districts on the Gold Coast. Only a 15 minute walk to Cavill Avenue at Surfers Paradise and 15 minutes to The Oasis at Broadbeach. In 5 minutes walk, you get to the tram station that can take you to the Casino and the other major shopping districts. The apartments are right in the beach! You don’t have to cross a busy road. This is such a wonderful safety consideration when you have small children. ||2) Views: I recommend that you request and pay a little extra to have a room with the ocean view. It is so beautiful and part of the feeling of being on a relaxing holidays.||3) Friendly and helpful staff: Although it is self-contained, there is still a reception and they always greet us when we are entering and leaving the building. They also gave us good ideas on activities to do with the children. ||4) Cleanliness: The cleaners of these apartments have excellent attention to detail. These apartments were the cleanest I have stayed in within the self-contained range.||5) Self-contained: The fact that these are self-contained is an ultra bonus when travelling with a family. We were able to shop and have a fridge full of food and snacks for the kids and us. When we didn’t want to go out for dinner, we were also able to cook. There is also a BBQ area and it was a lovely night being able to have a BBQ in the beach. It is the only accommodation option on the whole area that has this option! ||Perfect for families and those who love to be so close to the beach. ||Suggestion: If the building has space, I would recommend adding a games room for the rainy days. The apartments are large but would be great to have some table tennis, pool and good old fashioned pinball. It would suit the era of the building and create a wonderful sense of nostalgia for the guests. I would advertise it like “old-school games room” I’d give each room their own balls for the table tennis. That way people don’t keep destroying them or having people looking...
Read moreGreat size apartments in a prime location, right on the beach. Great size for families and even couples with little people. Perfect to still be able to see the beach if the weather isn’t that great and excellent beach access if it is. Pool is large and really clean. Great cooking facilities in the rooms and great family sized bbq area. Good location if you like a bit of a stroll, walked easily to surfers paradise on a concrete path. Lots of access to electric bikes for ease of access if you don’t want to walk. Would stay here again for sure. If you like a good coffee in the morning, I would research where you are going to go as they are a...
