Never again. My mate and I had to be in Brisbane on the Monday for an ATV course and travelled to Redcliffe from Toowoomba on the Friday in pouring rain. The lady at reception had gotten beck to us to let us know we could have a 3 bedroom unit (605)for the price of a 2 bedroom unit which we were very pleased with. The unit was quite humid when we entered so we turned on the air conditioner. It rained water all over the floor. We tried the one in the main bedroom for the same result. I went and reported this to the receptionist so as we would not be blamed for the damage. We were told someone would be up to check it. Still waiting. It was the weekend of the deluge and the leaks kept coming in the main bedroom and the doors to the deck needed to be closed to stop the rain entering. We couldn’t use the air conditioning. We were informed on the Sunday that our course would not be happening so made the decision to check out early on the Monday to travel back to NSW as floodwaters were rising. We told the lady at reception that we would be going a day early and hoped for a refund of the Monday night tariff. The lady said she would be talking to her boss soon and would let us know. This was 24 hours before departure. We never heard from her. Monday morning we left at 5am and got through the floodwaters on the coast with about 1 hour to spare. I rang and emailed on the Tuesday after we were home and spoke to John about a refund for the Monday night. John said he would need to speak to the unit owner and would get back to us. Friday I rang again and he said he would get straight onto it. We received an email that afternoon that said it was in the terms and conditions that the unit owner could refuse a refund and they had done so. I sent a reply asking whether the terms and conditions included people staying in substandard accommodation. I have not received a reply as yet. On a weekend when people were losing everything the unit owner was not willing to refund a nights accommodation. Says everything I believe. If you do have a fit of humanity and decide to refund the money please donate it to the flood appeal. Never...

We reached out to the Manager during our stay (Nov 2023) with an email listing our concerns (as requested in Proximity's own info pack compendium), with the hope of having them resolved or addressed.
We discussed this with the very helpful receptionist, but we never received a reply to our email so we are listing those concerns here: On arrival, blankets and bed covers were dirty and smelt off Requested clean replacements - some replacement items arrived dirty (esp Queen blanket) Grime on light switches Missing cupboard doors above fridge Incomplete renovation of microwave space Missing/blotchy ceiling paint (multiple areas) Dirty commode cupboard top - food grime, other Missing bulbs in range-hood Bulbs over kitchen bench don’t work No key lock to main sliding door - not child safe as unable to secure shut No household cleaners of any sort - not even spray and wipe Almost no consumables included despite 1 week stay - noted your comments about self catering which is fine - but at $400++/night seriously?? Washing machine broken AE error code unable to reset
In summary, the apartment is in very poor condition and lacks the basics, not to mention being unsafe (sliding door no lock for children despite being on top floor). It certainly does not meet expectations, especially given the luxury...
Read moreI could not recommend John & Kelly enough for there service and above and beyond care.
I had booked accomidation 4 months in advance via Booking.com for another location privately owned on Flinders street for a wedding. On my day of arrival, I had flown interstate and arrived at my prearranged and prepaid for apartment, only to find my lock code wouldnt work and the owner was ignoring my called. After lots of fighting to get through to someone at bookings.com I was told "the owner has left a note that they are doing construction and the booking has to be cancelled". I was left standing on the streets of scarborough with all my luggage at 4pm, fretting about where I was now going to stay.
A quick jump onto Airbnb I came across a 2 bedroom apartment nearby, and quickly messaged the host. To my absolute luck, Kelly, despite shutting reception for the day, stayed back until I arrived and got me checked into my room. Her absolute care and understanding while I was having a near panic attack was extremely appreciated, and I can not thank her enough for doing something so little, but so impactful.
The room was fabulous, we had all the ammenities we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the view was gorgeous. Waking up to the sun rising off the water was just the best. Will definitely be recommending this place to...
