We stayed at the Sandbelt Hotel to be near the Monash Hospital, as a family member was having surgery.|Although the staff are polite and friendly, the accommodation was filthy. The rooms are old, and the hotel has a 3 star rating, so we weren't expecting the place to be pristine. But the apartment we stayed in was filthy. First was the syringe in the bathroom. When we contacted management she came over, and we were surprised to see that she wasn't wearing mask (although they were mandatory on that date due to Covid) She wasn't wearing gloves, and simply wrapped the syringe in a piece of A4 paper and politely told us that the room would be cleaned in the morning and management would be in touch. Had my mum not had surgery early the next day we would have left.|The shower was mouldy and there was hair stuck to the shower walls. The floors were dirty, the bedsheets had greasy brown stains and the underlay was stained. The tabletop and bench was dirty, one of the cups had lipstick on it, and several plates had dried food on them. There was something sticky spilled in one of the cupboards, the window sills and ledges were dirty and had dead bugs. The two attached photos show where we wiped the floor with water, you can clearly see how dirty it is |The manager refunded our money (although this wasn't done for several days and I had to eventually get the booking agent involved, they had ma refund within an hour whereas the hotel hadn't managed to do so in 6 days) They also gave us a restaurant voucher. Although cleaners came to the room, they simply changed the sheets and wiped the shower. We also observed cleaners drop clean linen in the carpark and put it back onto the cart. The cleaners did not show up at all for the next two days as they were allegedly ill. |In addition, the hotel is very noisy, construction work began 7am each morning of our stay, and patrons in the other rooms were very loud.|The restaurant serves nice reasonably priced food.|I would not recommend this hotel unless they seriously address the issues they have...
Read moreBeen here recently. Jordan took my order on 26/5/21 - receipt 32298 - denied staff card as not on me only a photo. . Have now spend 40 minutes waiting for a 2 kids meals and two adult meals. Have now complained.
50 mins - kids meals came out finally after we complained at 40 minutes. Food is pathetic. We have a tiny plate of chips and the food is now burnt. Burnt chicken snitz and fish.
60 mins - complain again. No adult meals still. It is now almost 8pm.
62mins -adult meals arrive. Sadly. Incorrect and wrong. Additions / add-ons paid for not on plates.
69 mins. Additions came out on side plate. Pathetic.
70 mins - table 31 complains they have no food. Assistant manager Jordan gives customers money to keep them quiet.
73 mins - cheers erupt from table 31 as their meal arrives except for one guy.
80 mins -last guy at table 31 gets his meal. I go and ask for the kids desserts.
84 mins - kids meals arrive by Jordan who took order. Also incorrect. Said sorry that they were very busy tonight and it was unexpected that they were so busy. Counted 15 tables of customers.
90 mins - took our empty kids plates, adult plates back to the ordering bench as they were clearly very busy standing behind the counter talking and gave them back the dishes. Attended bar and gave back all the empty glasses.
Used to come here all the time and now wouldn't come here if you paid me. I'll even put photos up...
Read moreI booked the Sandbelt hotel with a family of 15, and would of made really good money for the business, but sadly had one of the rudest and most disgusting interactions I’ve ever received in my life by the host at the front, ( didn’t get his name but he had a very scraggly neck beard and goatee) He completely disrespected my 85+ year old grandparents, myself included, and the whole rest of my family who were merely trying to celebrate their granddaughter’s birthday. we were trying to help and trying to find a solution to our problem but he refused, and actually started speaking to us in a very condescending manor. I honestly would never wish this experience on anybody. He was disrespectful and made my grandparents cry. My family members were speaking calmly and nicely to him and he proceeded to start yelling. Actually acting in a really smarmy smart attitude. once that happened he started waving goodbye with a smirk on his face. I own a restaurant in the northern suburbs and I would never hire anyone like that. I really hope you find the name of this man and speak to him about this incident because I’m appalled and disgusted with the actions that had taken place. Please reconsider booking or coming to this hotel...
