The Phoenix, Artesian Spa Resort & Accommodation — Hotel in Moree

Stayed here for a work trip. Got told I was put out in the old section that's going to be refurbished due to having my dog 🐕 with me.

Service was very professional & friendly - however, my personal stay here unfortunately wasn't very good. I got room 61 - The room was dirty, had redback spiders 🕷 in kitchen cabinets, hair in the shower + waste, spiderwebs, AC didn't work, no fan, super noisy!! Front screen door didn't shut properly + couldn't lock it. Old used soap in shower, someone's personal effects in bathroom vanity. Holes in the flyscreens, power actually went off for 1 night, noisy rude inconsiderate tenants, street sweepers going off, loud as couldn't relax, leaking dripping taps, people talking loud of a night, couldn't get any sleep!! People smoking drugs as I could smell it!! Work all day in 38 degree heat + come home to basically a sauna!! Sooooooo hot + with no AC or even a ceiling fan!!! Right near the QLD border!! Crappy place, crappy town + probably the worst trip I've ever had regarding business + WILL NEVER STAY HERE EVER AGAIN!! Have already told my work, if work happens in Moree again, I'm NOT going + if I definitely have to, please DO NOT Book me in here,  ever again  - as there's NO WAY I'd ever stay there again. Total crap bad experience. Ashame,  as staff I met were very nice, pitty about the motel (Old side about to be refurbished, not the new part)👎👎👎👎👎 Please don't think this review is of the new part of the motel, I have no doubt it's great + the staff I met were awesome & the new part looked pretty good actually, but I wasn't put in there, I was put out the back on the old crappy part that's going to be refurbished!! I wouldn't give you $50 for 1 night here, ridiculous!! Totally a very bad experience + couldn't get out of there quick enough.... As above, please don't think this review is about the new part of the motel, as it dies look pretty spectacular to stay there, but once again, as above - unfortunately I didn't get to...

On a return to Brisbane from Sydney via Moree. We arrived in Moree on a wing and a prayer at dusk and at the intersection of the NSW and QLD school holidays which meant most rooms were taken. We stayed in the "budget" section of the hotel but were met by a pre-warmed room with the light on! which Kirstine kindly organised before our arrival.

Kristine's commitment to ensuring we settled in pronto impressed us +++ as once payment made, we received an email with access, gate code, room number and location were forwarded. We therefore, were happily settled and still had time to have a mineral soak in the variably heated indoor spa baths...had the best sleep that night.

We ventured to the outdoor hot spa (under cover) in the morning and missed the 10am check out. Just had to have a wake up plunge in the adjacent cold pool.

Apart from the quiet, clean room, reasonable $$, and mineral spas, the hospitality bestowed by Kirstine and Paul (managers), was exceptional: Thanks to Kirstine, our arrival (late) was relaxed, no trouble and thanks to Paul for an informative chat about the site and answering my myriad of questions about the hotel and Moree. I will definitely come back to Moree, definitely stay at the Phoenix and definitely stay...

We stayed here a little over two years ago and since then they have changed hands and put some serious TLC into the establishment with Newley renovated rooms, coffee and tea facility’s and a bar fridge. With new security gates and key codes for the rooms. With new indoor artisan baths, with the main pool also being the beautiful artisan warm water and the icy cold bath just a hop skip and a jump next to it, it’s always been a pleasure to stay here with my two boys, and family and friends, this time round we decided to do a family trip, with my father and brother, we had two rooms right next door to each other, perfect!! we really didn’t need to leave the hotel with the BBQ area and the pools, the staff are super friendly and always willing to give a hand in any way, with their local knowledge and great suggestions on where to go for dinner or just to check out the local area, great value for money and the location is perfect, not far from the center of town about a 20mims walk. You can’t go past this little gem this is our third time staying here and won’t stay any where else. Will defiantly be back again. Thank you and can’t wait to be...
