Baths Motel — Hotel in Moree

BEWARE!! My Mother stayed here with my Grandma in early Feb. They were robbed at 5:45am by a local. He was able to enter the car park, wait under darkness and was able creep up behind them as she was opening the door and steal her handbag. Cash, phone, cards, house keys, Everything.

Her phone calls were not being returned so I decided to call the manager instead. I spoke to the manager "Ben" and asked him why he hasn't returned phone calls to which he said the owner was away. I informed him that we would like to make a claim through their insurance company to cover at least some costs of the stolen items. He made a comment saying theft is really common here and it's not our fault to which I said why do you not have signs to be aware of thieves? Why do you not leave at least a couple of lights on so no one can hide in the darkness. He Also added a ridiculous comment saying "if your mother was glassed at a pub would she sue the pub??"" I had none of this and informed him to pass my details to the owner. Over 2 months I had to argue with Ben who who gave me nothing but lies and excuses in this order saying Owner was away on holidays (again) and he would call back, that they had only building insurance and no theft insurance, that the owner sold the business and the new owner has no responsibility, that the new owner will get back to me and he (Ben) will not need to speak to me any more and finally that the owner is speaking to his legal team (must be a cheap legal team). I have still had no contact or have ever been followed up regarding this.

The robbery was terrifying enough for a 60 and 82 year old so much they will not be coming back here especially considering there is no duty of care and no responsibility taken. NOT EVEN AN ATTEMPT! This is obviously a dishonest and untrustworthy business. Go stay...

Pros:||Clean, comfortable and felt very safe - gates are closed by 10pm each evening.||Takeaway store located onsite and great value when you want a hassle-free option. Easy to walk to other local restaurants and approx 15-20 minutes' walk into town.||Wifi worked well, shower pressure was excellent and one of the tidiest guest laundries and communal kitchens I have seen in a motel.||It was great to have fridge/microwave/cutlery/sink in the room.||Spas are just a short few minutes' walk around the corner.||Michael was very hospitable and collected us from the airport. Communication with his son David was excellent.||Great value, locally run business and worth staying again in the future.||Cons:||Physical menu at the takeaway shop (instead of having to refer via the QR code).||Pillows...
