Winchester Motel in Moree — Hotel in Moree

Well after a long 8 hour trip my partner and two dogs were looking forward to a well earned swim and relax in this motel, where I have stayed in the past. The new management spoke of upgrades and how Lovley my stay would be now. On arrival large iron gates locked us out from entering the motel grounds, luckily after a coupple of phone calls the manager rocked up to let us in, being told one price over the phone then charged $15. More didn't go down to well, after a little back and forward decision a drop of $5. Was given and After our hot trip a swim would be great, I was to tired to banter any more. but the pool was no longer there, in place was a patch of grass that other residents used as a dog toilet..ok so a shower and a bit of TV, 😐 oops no tv, no signal, it wasn't working, after some time management replaced that tv with a small one balanced on the bench in front of the other. With paper thin walls deviding the other room from ours we spent half the night listening to the other guests tv ,talking and dogs barking. Cooking a piece of toast was a mission in the brand new toaster from Kmart ,my partner held the switch down until the toast was cooked as it wouldn't stay down on its own, A cup of coffee would have been great ,there was coffee and tea complimentary, but milk ? Why did it not surprise me,wasnt part of the deal..turning on the light switch beside the bed was a beauty, every time it was switched it made the microwave ring.😮 True Its now very early hours in the morning and I am writing this review, another long trip tomorrow,will I get some sleep? well I'm not sure yet, though the bed is...

This is our 4th year of stopping at The Winchester Motel in Moree, on our way home to Orange for Christmas.||We travel with Harry our Mini Dachshund who is always welcome and very much appreciated. There is a doggy toilet area over what once was the old pool (now filled in). ||I also tow a trailer boat - and it is able to be accommodated within the locked yard overnight, with advanced notice which is appreciated. ||This year we had room 7 on the way down and back. It is a twin room (single and queen beds). I think it was around $130/ night from memory which was $10 less than last year! ||It's not the ritz, but for a country motel - you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner, more comfortable room to rest after a long day of driving. ||Our room was spotlessly clean and well presented. ||The beds are good quality and the pillows and linen also in good condition. The rooms can be made dark with blinds to ensure a good rest. ||Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and there is a microwave and small fridge in the room. ||Free high speed internet (can use to watch Netflix from own account).||The air con was cool (stinking hot in moree)||The room was quiet. ||The bathroom had a hairdryer and basic toiletries supplied. ||The new host was friendly and very efficient, and we really appreciated helping us get our boat in overnight.||The motel has changed hands 3 times since we have been using it the last 4 years - not sure why - but we have only had good experiences here, and the Winchester will continue to be our preferred stop over .||Thank you for having...
