We had a very nice experience staying here. The owners, or very helpful and gracious. We spent four days staying here in Port Douglas. In terms of the things we liked, and the room was very well laid out and had all the basic amenities of home. The water pressure was fantastic, and we found the unit to be very clean and spacious. We also liked the pots and pans and dishes that were available so we were able to dine in in our dining area most evenings. The location is nice because it’s right in town, and we were able to walk to the grocery store and other local eating places without any difficulty. It is also pretty close to the marina, which is nice! There was a Jacuzzi on the deck, although we didn’t use it because the temperatures in Port Douglas were very hot the week that we stayed there, however it was nice to have the option! The only thing I might suggest that they improve, was that the Wi-Fi was very spotty for the duration of our stay. It made it challenging for me to send out work emails and things that needed to be completed, however other than that it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend you book a vacation here The only thing I might suggest that they improve, was that the Wi-Fi was very spotty for the duration of our stay. We booked a last minute week long stay at Regal at the end of April 2022. Our room/suite was clean and spacious and pretty much as described during the booking process. Our balcony on the first level overlooked the main street of Macrossan yet we had no issues with street noise. The room had great air conditioning which was appreciated in the tropical heat of FNQ. The air con unit cooled very quickly and was powerful enough to cool the entire suite. The location was ideal and very close to everything in town including shops, cafes, restaurants, Four Mile Beach, Flagstaff Hill walking track and the wharf/marina and Rex Smeal park only about a ten minute walk. We were at Regal for seven nights in total. We hired a car for just a few days which gave us a bit more flexibility to do our own thing and Regal has free secure underground parking available for guests. Overall, very little noise heard from other Regal occupants from inside our room. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We were very happy with the value for money and our stay at Regal.

The location is very convenient to both the beach and the wharf as well as Macrossan Street. Our room was spacious with a jacuzzi on the balcony. You could sit on the balcony and relax, there was noise from traffic and trucks that frequent the street especially in the early mornings. There was noise from other residents and you could hear people walking on the corridors and shutting doors at all hours. However our stay was pleasant. The pool area was comfortable and only really busy on the weekends. The accommodation wouldn't suit those people who would have trouble carrying suitcases up stairs due to the lack of a lift. It is more Iike apartment type accommodation. Stays of 7 days and less don't get housekeeping. The owners can book tours for you or can suggest options. If you arrive out of office hours they have an after hours number to call that will assist you with obtaining your keys and room entry directions. The specifications in the welcome letter were clear. For the price it was a reasonable accommodation in a great location.

So where can I start with Regal resort. When we walk in your are greeted by Sheryl’s warm, bubbly, simile. Bob checked us into our apartment and showed us how to use hot-tub. Gave us some advice where to eat and where is the Coles. The room is to one side the bed and other side was the balcony. I am guessing all the rooms are similar configurations. Only part we didn't like was the cooking as you need to open all the windows if you are cooking sausages or steak, but cooking pasta or something close lid would be fine but still need to open all the windows and put the fan high, so you don’t have to pay for the fire brigade
. Those are little thing I guess, because we had an awesome time. The pool is small when you compare to other big resorts like peppers or oaks, but if you compare to other apartment complexes(such as Coral Sea Villas, Driftwood-Mantaray Apartments) which is close to the 4 mile beach or other none big company owned resorts, Regal is much better and big enough and it has a nice water feature. Our apartment was clean so nothing much to report there, the pool had was nice, and it has a spa!!! (spa closes 5pm), free ice for your cocktails and a BBQ facility. Coles is like 5-7mins walking distance. and Similar distance to the 4 mile beach Coffee we liked Sparrow Coffee which is before the Coles and for lunch we hard Crocodile Pie from Mockas Pies (maybe just about very day :) ) Then you have the Mexican or the left and the Zinc on the right for closer restaurants. For tours, why walk around to the tour shops. From my understanding they are owned by the big tour companies, like Quicksilver Group (Quicksilver, Silvers Series, Poseidon, Waredancer) Tropical Journeys (Calypso), Wavelength etc. so you don't know who is giving the right advice. So why not speak to Sheryl for unbiased information. The prices are pretty much the same. She asked few questions from us like, what we really want to get out of the reef and the left the Amex card and went to the pool. She did all the booking and printed out the information we need. They really want to make sure we enjoy PD and enjoy their home. After all it is run by them so you have that warm welcome and they help you out. I do felt a bit for them as Sheryl does the all office stuff and Bob does the maintenance. So we really liked Regal Port Douglas. So don’t get annoyed why Spa get close at 5pm and stick to the pool rules and you...

Had a fantastic time staying at Regal Port Douglas! This apartment hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of the bars, restaurant and harbour and is the perfect base for exploring the area.||From the moment we arrived, the managers Kim and James were so friendly and helpful. Thank you so much!||We had a fabulous one-bed jacuzzi apartment, with a bed in the lounge for our son. The apartment was lovely, kitted out with everything you need for self catering (but there are so many great food places you may not bother!). ||The huge bed was super comfy, plenty of wardrobe and kitchen cupboard space, ironing equipment, and a washer and dryer in the room, as well as an airer. The bathroom was lovely and spacious, with a great power shower. ||We loved the swimming pool, it’s perfect for a dunk at the end of the day! Our private jacuzzi was a huge hit with our son too. Beach towels are provided, so no need to pack them!||Loads of parking in the hotel car park underneath.||Eateries we liked:||Rattle and Hum - great pub food and cracking pizzas |Hemingways Brewery - ideal for light bites and views of the boats|N17 burgers - amazing choice and ‘build your own’|Choo Choos - gorgeous breakfast (huge portions)||Things to do:||Visit the Forever Reef project in the wharf to learn about coral preservation - absolutely fascinating! ||Do not miss out on a reef trip with Quicksilver, snorkelling amongst multicoloured fish was an absolute highlight...
