Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas — Attraction in Port Douglas

This is a little gem of a spot that is pretty tranquil on the best of days. Unfortunately, this was not the day. After bedding a slightly older hottie in my late 20s, a relationship formed that would carry throughout the years up to 2017 when we wed on this idyllic patch of sand. Fast forward to 2024 with one son and many court hearings later, I would later come to rue the day I ever showed up on the day and marry that absolute piece of work. The crocodiles stayed away this day my friends, knowing well that their master lurked nearby. But never again shall I let the peaceful, beautiful sands and waves of Four Mile Beach distract me from seeing the almighty evil incarnate I now know was in my ex-wife's eyes all along. This beach is amazing! The length of it is incredible and it’s such a relaxing place to visit. It’s so cool to see all the burrowing crabs and the little sand balls they make. While you’re in Port Douglas, walking, riding, or relaxing on the beach is one of the best parts. There is an area near the main street (Macrossan Street) where you can hire an umbrella and chairs (but you need cash). You can use these for as long as you like and it’s a really great experience. Great to walk along this beach. Very relaxing and the water is so warm to walk along in as it laps your feet. Lots of fallen coconuts to pick up and shake. It is quit cool how they have protected the trees from development. You are immersed in nature as you enjoy the beauty of the Coral Sea. There is a patrolled swimming area at the north end of the Beach. We got paranoid and started scanning our surroundings when we saw the crocodile warning half way...
