During our visit, we experienced a mixed bag of culinary offerings. While the ambiance was welcoming, our dining experience was marked by varying levels of satisfaction with the dishes we sampled. We began with an order of curry puffs. Unfortunately, the puffs were overly doughy, which overshadowed the delicate flavours they should have presented. As a starter, they failed to set a promising tone for the meal. Our second dish, a massaman beef curry, was an undeniable highlight. Crafted with skill, the beef was tender, and the rich, aromatic flavours were beautifully balanced. It stood out as the most enjoyable aspect of our meal, showcasing the restaurant's potential for delivering authentic Thai cuisine. However, our third dish—a stir-fry of chicken with peanut sauce—fell significantly short of expectations. The absence of a robust peanut flavour left the dish feeling bland and uninspired, which was particularly disappointing given our enthusiasm for the combination of ingredients. In the end, we left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied with some of the dishes we ordered. While the massaman beef curry was exceptional, the inconsistency in the quality of the other dishes detracted from what could have been a memorable meal. This restaurant might be worth a visit if you're seeking specific dishes, but our experience suggests that not all menu items deliver the same level...

5 months after our last visit to PD and Thai Douglas, our love for this place has not diminished. If anything, we like it even more! 3 visits in 12 days says a lot!! In those visits we’ve just about tried all the entrees and all of them have been amazing! We’ve especially enjoyed the dim sims, coconut prawns and the chicken satay sticks which were particularly succulent, when so often these can be a bit dry. The mains were similarly delicious with favourites being the prawn seafood asparagus stir fry, the soft shell crab special and the red chicken curry. Delicious! The inclusion of fresh season vegetables is a real plus! As always, the service is friendly and the prices provide excellent value!

We LOVE Thai Douglas! As visitors from Melbourne we first experienced the delights here just after it opened. Having been back several times since, we’re never disappointed. The food is SOOOO tasty and the service from the young staff is always first class. A table on the deck is a bonus! Thai Douglas is not fine dining but it’s a real gem and well worth experiencing. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as we always do! We’ll...

Thai'd for first.

When one eats Thai, they have an expectation and those expectations are exportable between establishments and compare them we must. The wine list has to be seen to be believed, there isn't one, believe it, but there is a bottle shop across the road and they charge $2.50 per person for BYO. Mental note ......

Looking past that anomaly, service was great, presentation was excellent and staff were friendly and efficient. Up until the food arrived (which was surprisingly quick) you would say that they were just another Thai Restaurant, but that was where the mediocrity stopped. The Satay's were to die for, the wok tossed Beef and cashew as good as I have had, and that's saying something, cause I've had a lot of it.

If the rest of the menu was as good as these then this is in the premier league. Mrs F just gushed about the food, the only time she stopped was when she put more in her mouth.

Thoroughly recommended. Cant fault it, it is...

Awesome food, great service and nice restaurant! Does what it says on the tin - great authentic Thai food. I had the Pad See Mow and they were delicious. Not for the fainted hearted though, they were packed with chilli, fresh ginger and herbs - aswell as juicy prawns and tonnes of crunchy vegetables. Service was super quick and even though they were busy, had free tables with no wait. Definitely eat here if you’re passing through Port Douglas!

Great little authentic Thai Restaurant at a reasonable price with Vegan Options! Wonderful fresh food, authentic Thai flavours and kind and attentive service. We had the Yellow Curry Vegan, and a Pad Se Ew. It was great. If you're in town and you've got to have Thai, don't miss it. In fact, even if you're not hanging out for Thai, this is a great meal option for Port Douglas. We loved it.
