This place is totally misrepresented by the owners. Way overpriced, you pay twice as much for half as much as the rooms half a block away. It is touted as the historic oldest house in Robe. It is rated as a 4 star and a B&B. This is not a B&B. For a 2 night stay for 2 people, for two breakfasts, they left us 4 eggs, 2 yogurts, and a few pieces of bread in a tiny refigerator (see the picture below). Really? The eggs were raw so when I pulled out a pan to cook the eggs on the stove, the pan was caked with old food. So I thought, ok, I will wash it. When I reached for the scouring pad in the cabinet, it was crusted with pieces of old food. In fact, the cabinet smelled so bad that we didn't want to open the doors. The whole kitchen area was so dirty I couldn't even eat in the room. The WiFi didn't even work. Then when we used their faucet water to drink, we both got sick from drinking it. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that it was in a good location. Don't...
Read moreA perfect stop off whilst on a road trip along the Great Ocean Road for our Honeymoon. The check in / out was self-service but smooth and straightforward, and when we briefly saw the staff later on they were very friendly. It looked like it would be easy to contact the staff if there had been any problems, although this wasn't necessary during our trip.
The rooms were simply decorated but in keeping with the aesthetics of this old building. The furnishing and air conditioning made the room comfortable. Ample provisions for a simple breakfast and to facilitate basic cooking if you wanted to although we ate out as we were only in town for the night. There was a lot of informative material about the local area including things to do and recommendations on eateries - the chippy in town was very good though!!
Not luxury but would recommend to anyone who finds themselves...
Read moreWe weren't sure what to expect having read a couple of the reviews before our arrival but decided to stick with our booking that had been arranged by Trailfinders. We really enjoyed our stay. This is an historic property that has been restored as four holiday apartments. The interior is tastefully decorated, keeping the feel of a period property but with a modern feel. There is a hob and oven so you can self cater if you want and plenty of space to prepare food and eat it. The owners provide all you need for a continental breakfast, I am not sure what some earlier reviewers expected but in the Airbnb age this is a bonus. The bed is comfortable, the shower big and the room was spotless. There is a lovely garden and you can walk to all the main sights in minutes. Definitely recommend staying here if you are doing the...
