Hey Day Buddina — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Let me start by saying, I'm writing this review as staff made very little attempt to rectify the issue I brought to their attention. I've been here a handful of times before for take away coffee & biscuits. Decided to sit inside this visit to enjoy my coffee & sweet treat. Ordered my coffee & looked in the sweet cabinet to choose something and was shocked to see at least half a dozen flies in there! Brought this to the attention of the waitress serving me who had a basic attempt to remove the flies while I was standing there but prioritised taking my order. I decided on a toastie instead as I prefer my sweets without fly excrement! I left the counter to sit down, leaving the waitress to get rid of the remaining flies...or so I thought. No further attempt was made to remove them or clean out the cabinet for the 45 minutes I was there! Whilst having my coffee & toastie I was constantly having to shoo flies from my food and plate, in particular baby flies! There were flies on chopping boards, knives, cloths and food and those things all were used time and again without being washed etc. I appreciate it's difficult to keep flies and bugs at bay in the current climate, however further should be done to address this issue for simple hygiene, health and safety of the customers. Sadly, this put me off and I don't think...

Awesome new spot in Buddina! Tucked in behind Kawana shopping world, really peaceful outlook onto street. Impressive buildout, unlike anything currently on the sunny coast - definitely worth checking out.

Service was really attentive (was table service for dine in). James & Ash were really knowledgeable and great at answering any coffee questions I had about current & upcoming offerings. Really tasty coffee, had a magic & went back for a second. Rotating options for both espresso & filter.

Currently have pastry items available, with more substantial items being launched in near future.

Also only specialty spot in the area open until 2pm weekdays, so great option for later coffee drinkers....
