This is also the RSL. Although food prices are Surf Club rates, they are huge!! My friends who live up here keep coming back and I know why. I had the calamari, fish, 2 shrimp courgettes, 1 scallop, and chips, no salad. (Where were they going to put the salad???). The fish wasn't hoki (a bit fishy) and it was not tempura batter, it was a crunchy covering (why is it these days that so many places give you something other than what you ordered? Without telling you??). The calamari was a delight. PURRfectly cooked it snapped when you bit/cut it and it had been skinned. I normally, absolutely, Hate peppered calamari, however the pepper on these was really soft on the tongue and the other seasoning was just delightful. The club itself is clean, softly bright as againt dull dark setting, and the staff were very nice and friendly and looked as if they liked their job, such a treat these days. The only thing that took away from all of this (& my followers know I keep harping on about this) was the music getting so loud at times I lost what I was saying because I nearly had to shout for my friend who is partially deaf. It was the middle of the day so not many there so it didn't need to be that loud. Whatever happened to BACKground music? It's all IN YOUR FACE these days and you can't have a conversation. Apart from that I will be travelling up with friends for lunch one day. It is worth a 4hr round trip. Unfortunately I forgot the photos; you'll just have to go and...

Manager was extremely rude! I turned up at the surf club just for dinner with some friends, some of whom were 18/19, others 17. Me myself being 17, I was just wanting dinner nothing else. However I was turned away (none of my friends were turned away mind you!!!!) and I was told I could not enter as a 17 year old as I needed a legal guardian.. she then went on to question me "if I had been drinking" to which I replied "no I have not at all". She then replied "are you sure?" Honestly this is ridiculous as I did not one bit look intoxicated nor had I had anything to drink!!!! I am not familiar with their exact policies as I'm not a local however I don't understand why they allowed other underage people in without asking for id, and assumed they were "about 20" without actually knowing. I was forced to leave as I couldn't join my friends. Shortly after my friend called the club asking to talk to the manager to explain the current situation and this same woman answered and told her that I looked intoxicated... even though I clearly was not! The manager then abruptly hung up on my friend! Honestly disgusting and I hope no one goes to this place again. Terrible service, I would give 0...

Nice place, not too crowded on a Sunday at noon. Prices are reasonable.

From the photos I took, you can see the Chicken Schnitty (150g) and the Mexican Street Corn. The chips were nothing exceptional. The minced beef in the Mexican Street Corn tasted great, though the menu makes no mention of minced beef in the dish. The giant ball of butter on the plate seemed unnecessary, and the portion of corn chips provided for scooping up the beef was too small.

With these two dishes, we received a complimentary soft drink and ice cream. However, we had ordered one entrée and one smaller plate, and there was no mention in the menu of these qualifying for a free ice cream and soft drink. The menu definitely needs an urgent review for clarity.

Overall, it was a nice place with a good experience, but the service could improve. Adding QR codes on tables for ordering would be a valuable enhancement to...

What a beautiful Christmas Lunch. We were seated upstairs for the buffet and the guests downstairs were quicker to the food so unfortunately a long line. Half of our table were told we only had one hour left to get their food. Then Sarah (below) just started arriving with plates of food to help us out. Her mannerism, customer service and nothing is a problem attitude just made the day. Dylan behind the bar upstairs also had the attitude where nothing was a problem. Absolutely saved us as like everyone else I can imagine it has been a rough year which lead us here in the first place. The food was also beautiful and well prepared with a very generous selection and amount of each selection. Well done Team and thank you! (Sorry about the sneaky photo Sarah).

Hands down the worst food I've eaten in Qld. Ordered Surf club fish and chips. Menu says whiting lemon crumbed with chips and salad. I confirmed with staff that you get 4 to 5 pieces of whiting and ordered it for my wife and kids. What we got was a plate with some cold chips and 2 small pieces of frozen box fish like the ones you make for kids! Tasted terrible. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it was like cardboard. When we complained all they told us was that they'd pass it on to the chef. $59 later we left most of our meals on the table and our bellies empty. FYI the fish looked identical to the ones pictured below.
