We arrived at the 'Hotel' at 4PM, hot and tired after a long journey. We entered the musty reception, which looked like it hadn't been cleaned since it was built, only to see furry rats and fat flies. We repeatedly rang the call bell to no avail.. Luckily we caught a glimpse of a ragged bit of paper on the damp torn carpet telling us to call (11) if no one was at the reception. The fifth time we rang we got a rude grunt on the other end saying they will come around in a minute. Almost an hour later a large woman waddled in and told us to wait while she chatted at large with her boyfriend. At about 5:20 she looked at us, as though we had come to ask for free lodging or leftover food. We finally checked in, which was us filling in a form while she took the role of a impudent headmistress and shrieked at us every once in a while. We trudged up 4 flights of stairs with our suitcases as they had no room on the ground floor, this is after requesting them for a one, we learnt they have none and it was one of the many scams that followed. The room wasn't ready (when checkin is from 2PM onwards) and it looked like it had been through the roughest calamity known to man, sheets were strewn every where but the bed, the curtains and towels were one- damp, stained and on the floor. There were drippings of gooey blue soap on the floor and walls and the bulbs kept flickering. It was an ideal place to shoot a awry horror scene. The beds were decorated with a grist of dead flies and the whole place smelt like a rotten goat. We ran back down and cancelled our reservation at once, and having got a dismal refund we left the nightmare behind us. The owner and his staff were rude and unhelpful and the place has the worst possible location- far off on some deserted highway midway to the next town. I recommend no one stay there. This place should be rightfully renamed...

The hotel management's response time to our queries before check-in was good - they responded within 24 hours. The hotel has a lift. The hotel is close to Salzburg Central (a.k.a. Salzburg Hbf) but when we visited, there was only 1 direct bus with a very limited frequency and at times it was 5-10 mins late. The frequency and delays depend upon which day of the week one is planning to travel. So if one doesn't have too much luggage, one could take bus no. 3 or 6 from Salzburg Hbf to Mirabelplatz and then take bus no. 21 from there to the hotel. Not sure if these bus numbers or routes would change. So, do your research before travelling. The room was a basic one with standard provisions of toiletries, fresh towels, linen, tea/coffee maker but no tea/coffee ingredients, TV, fridge. The hotel restaurant has very limited veg options. It's a typical B&B, so the kitchen is closed outside of breakfast timings. There aren't many restaurants nearby the hotel. So, one could either order via the food delivery app (foodora) online or finish dinner before returning to the hotel. If given a choice, ask for a room in their main building where the breakfast room is. They even have an annex but all guests from there have to come to the main building for breakfast and since it was raining badly when we visited, it's better to stay in the main one. Heaters in the rooms were working as per European standards however for those travelling from hotter countries, may feel that the heaters aren't...
