This is an old hotel that tries to disguise being modern. You can tell they're living off the brand name and location. I’d be surprised if you cannot find better options nearby. Stayed here July 7-13, 2024. Should have read past reviews telling the same story, before booking.
ROOMS: Rooms 202, 208, 209 had non-working drains. The shower doors in rooms 209 and 211 leaked (maybe also 202 and 208; never got to check) caused deep puddles on the floor.
Got assigned room 202, but the shower/bathtub drained extremely slowly. You had water above your ankles within minutes. It was basically clogged, there was a air bubble making through occassionally. The night technician came, he had only been there a week and was very nice, but could of course not do anything - this is a much bigger problem.
We asked for another room. The senior receiptionist was annoyed, when I thought he would be thankful for letting them know about a bigger problem. Got room 208 down the hall. Exactly the same non-draining problem. So, yeah, definitely a problem. Neighbor at 209 confirmed they had the same problem and leaking shower door. Told the receptionist I was surprised they didn’t know - only got silence, so it’s clear this is a well-known problem.
Got room 211. After only three minutes in the room, all the power went out. There was a wiring shortcut in the night lamp. Another night technician now showed up and got the electricity working.
Next morning: Shower door leaks. There’s a deep puddle all over the floor in the bathroom. Took 2-3 towels to dry up after each shower. It’s just a poor shower door design.
We had working A/C, but apparently other rooms did not.
All rooms we saw had closets without cloth hangers. There were a few non-movable hangers in a small closet, but nothing where you would hang your jackets etc. You had to ask for them and you got those flimsy ones.
BREAKFAST:
Had to ask to refill the bread basked and the hot water for tea basically every morning. The “spare water machine is broken”. The espresso machine that could produce hot water was either turned off or had to be rebooted, more or less every day.
SERVICE:
The night technicians were great and tried to be helpful, but it was clear there is a big turnover among the staff.
Got a random phone call to the room in the middle of the night.
We requested extra towels for water leak in the morning, but they never came. Later in the afternoon, a person walked right into the room despite having a “Do not disturb” sign up.
PARKING:
Parking ticket machine does not take non-EU(?) credit card (error “no chip?” despite having chips), and touch pay doesn’t work. We saw many visitors struggling with it. Cash worked. We reported the problem to the receptionist on the first day, they gave different excuses depending on who you asked. Still didn’t work 7 days later.
The monthly parking ticket was ~70 EUR, which I think is a good deal, given it's an underground parking down town. It was just very tricky to buy it.
OTHERS: There were big, long-running construction work taking place on two sides...
Read moreWe have stayed to Wyndham grand conference center, salzburg for 2 nights and 3 days.
We didnt feel like 4 star hotel considering hospitality and service.
On arrival,no one assisted for luggage, no one explained hotel amenities, No one accompanied to room and shown room and toiletries, had to ask for some basic toiletries, no water bottles (either mineral or RO-water purifier , only paid water).
We are pure vegeterian , thei didnt provide any veg food in breakfast except fruits and bread butter. They didnt prepare even any on request.
They asked for 25euro per person per night, so 100 euro for 2 nights as secuity deposit. All hotels in europe i stayed asked for 50euro total as security deposit even for 3 night stay and i didnt get concept of per day charge of this hotel, they could do housekeeping and ask for money daily if anything used or damaged. If we stay there for 10 days, will we ha e to pay 500euro deposit?? Cant they check it daily with housekeeping?? And leaving all these, i gave them my debit card as they told, it will be blocked 100euro, not debited without my authorization, but 100euro debited from my account and they did not even give receipt of their charge of 100euro security deposit, no proof in form of receipt or email that i paid 100euro which will be refunded back on checkout. They assured me that i will be getting it within 24 hours of checkout and it has been 5+ days, still i have not received my money back in my account, i emailed them as well, no reply of email too. So i definately do not consider this standard of 4 star hotel. Very poor customer service and zero hospitality!!
I asked for adapter to plug in my charger, as my charger wasnt compatible to their sockets, they asked for 50 euro for adapter as well apart from 100 euro security deposit. What kind of hotel it is? Not providing necessary things to their guests and asking for money for each and every things? Do travelers outside Europe need to bring 100 euro per day extra for such stuffs for each hotels? should not they provide such basic things??
Location : 5/5 (walking distance from train station) Room 3/5 (poor interior, no charging sockets even besides bed, only one socket in entire room) Amenities : 3.5/5 (they wrote free spa in their facilities, i would like to add that free spa includes swimming pool and sauna, dont mislead yourself by word free spa) Restaurant : 3.5/5 (If they had provided vegetarian food in breakfast, i would have given more rating, as apart from that, hospitality inside restaurant was good). Mr.Sunil Deewan was very good. Hospitality and room...
Read moreThe hotel is okayish, but the service is the worse I ever experience in all my travels!
The hotel’s location is good, it is few minutes walk from the main train station and 10 minutes drive from the downtown. We stayed at the “Business Class” room which was of a decent size, and the hotel has a large car parking.
However, the customer service was no way near what you would expect from a supposed four-star hotel.
When we arrived for check-in, we were left waiting in the lobby for 20-25 minutes for a porter to assist with our luggage. The porter was too busy vacuuming the lobby to help us, so we had to carry our own bags to our room!
On the second day, I needed to send a piece of clothing to the laundry. I called for someone to come collect it, but they were late. I had to leave the room and ask them to take the laundry in my absence, which they agreed to do. When I returned in the evening, the laundry bag was still there! I called the front desk, but no one answered.
The next morning, I called again and was told they couldn't deliver the laundry the same day, despite it being their mistake. After multiple arguments and escalations, they finally agreed to bring it back in the evening. But it was all alie! The laundry wasn't delivered until the next day, and it wasn't even properly cleaned or pressed. I paid for absolutely nothing!
The checkout process was a nightmare! They started harassing us at 11:00am, calling every 10-15 minutes to remind us to check out. The staff was rude and unprofessional. They sent a porter to my room at 11:40am, but my luggage wasn't ready, so I asked him to come back in 20 minutes. When I was ready to check out at 12:00pm, the porter was nowhere to be found. I called the front desk, who said “the porter is busy now! I sent him to you 20 min ago but you were not ready to leave the room!!!! You have to carry your luggage yourself” and hung up!!!
I called again and told him I have too many luggage which I can not carry myself, and therefore, I won’t leave the room until the porter is available. Suddenly the porter became available and was sent to my room in few minutes! They were clearly lying to me.
This is hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This hotel is a complete disaster, and I will never...
