We recently spent 3 nights here, on our first trip to Salzburg, and had a great stay, with only a few minor flaws, but they are due more to my lack of research beforehand, than any fault of the establishment. The room was immaculate, large, with plenty of space and storage, 2 desks(one which I used as a vanity table, right in front of a window, which I love). The bath was the best my husband experienced- he LOVED the heated floors, and rain shower with push buttons. The reception and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful, and we loved the breakfast with made to order eggs, and even a lovely frittata 2 mornings, and had that great coffee machine which dispensed hot chocolate, as I am not a coffee drinker. Beds, pushed together, and bedding, were very comfortable, with great lighting everywhere. Towels were on the thin side, and there was no decor, so it was very minimalistic, but provided everything we needed. The things that caught us by surprise, due to my lack of research, as I said, was that it was in a residential part of town, and not near any restaurants. We had chosen it to be close to the train station, as we were traveling by train to 7 cities over 3 w, and wish we had been closer to the tourist areas. The other thing I wish I had known was that it does not have the typical B&B appearance that we experienced elsewhere. It looked like an apartment building, and the entrance was a side door, leading to a very nondescript and not very appealing inner door, giving a bad first impression. Also, there was no office staff present 24 h. To be honest, we were disappointed that first day and evening, but ended up being very happy with our stay, with those few minor caveats. Again, as long as you know what you are booking, you will enjoy your stay. We would definitely recommend this B&B, making sure to point out the few areas that caught us...
Read more5 stars for the breakfast. Fruits were fresh, wide selection of delicious bread, meat, necessary drinks to start the day, eggs cooked to your preference , and slight variety of menu the next day. They really put attention and detail to their breakfast bar. Dining area is clean and quaint. 4 star for the room. While spacious and clean the basic amenities were lacking. I’m used to having a bottle of water available at least the first day. In addition, there are no toiletries except for one size fits all body and hair wash. Unless this is customary in Salzburg. 5 star Everyone who works there were kind and respectful. 3 stars for location. It is quite a walk from the main area of interest…but the train station is only 10 minutes walk so that was convenient for our travel into Salzburg and out. They sell the Salzburg card at the front desk. Worth the purchase for museum and furnicar ride. There are no convenient bus stops near the hotel. But most of the buses go to the...
Read moreThis was our favorite place to stay! The host is so friendly and kind. He went out of his way to do everything possible to help us and make us feel welcome. This included allowing us to leave luggage in our room even though it wasn’t ready yet, taking time to advise us on where to go, and even giving us marzipan gifts for the new year holiday as we were leaving. The B&B is all newly renovated and sparkling clean. Breakfast included latte, meat, cheese, croissants, and eggs cooked to order. In addition, this was by far the best shower I had on the entire trip (waterfall and hand held showers with awesome water pressure). We found that it was nice to stay away from the crowds, but be close enough to easily walk to the popular areas when we wanted to see or do something. Also an easy walk from the train station. We would not want to stay anywhere else when visiting Salzburg...
