Hotel Fischerwirt — Hotel in Zell am See

Overall had quite a pleasant stay at this hotel. However, I am not sure how this hotel has 4 stars. The rooms, whilst clean, are small, basic and dated. The pillows were painfully thin and limp. If you get half board, this is actually served in the sister hotel, which is quite a long walk. This wasn't mentioned. During dinner, one server showed clear favouritism towards certain guests, particularly the young females, whilst being curt with others. If you ask for water with dinner, they will bring you water, and only later you will find out that it cost 7 Euros... this is preposterous for this level of establishment. They say it is possible to use the pool in the sister hotel, however, turns out that would cost about 30 Eur per day, with no discount options for multiple days. Again, very disappointing. On the plus side, the breakfast selection was very good. The hotel management was generally attentive and willing to help with taxi bookings etc. The location of the hotel is central, though it does not offer a minibus to the gondola.

(Update: thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. To clarify, there are many nice things to like about this hotel. I forgot to mention that the dinner was also very good and the buffet selection was excellent. They also provided some musical entertainment on one night which was a nice touch. Regarding the bottle of water.. it did cost us that much. We remember quite clearly because we were quite shocked and even discussed it with the server. So unless you changed the price very recently, someone is not being truthful. I'm not sure what you mean by "washing the water" but in any case, surely can't cost the same as a pint of beer. Hotel in great spot, short walk down to the lake and short walk up to the nearest lift. Shops, bars & restaurants right outside.|Came here for the skiing and wasn't disappointed, experienced ski traveller so seen it all over the years. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Great price for our stay(with Inghams) Simple hotel, lovely and clean, helpful reception(spoke good English) Great rooms, I stayed in the top room overlooking the front street with balcony for an early morning coffee or end of day drink. My son's were in a rear room with similar facilities and small 'Juliet balcony'|Both rooms were clean, warm and comfy with TV, fridge & kettle. Good bath with overhead shower and separate WC which was great as I was sharing with son.|Breakfast was incredible, self service and had everything you could want, fairly large & spacious breakfast room so enjoyed that every morning.|We were B&B so didn't have evening meals, but I belief you take those in the 'sister hotel' a 2 min walk round from the front of the hotel or though a linked walkway from one property to the other.|4 out of 5 stars |Lost a star because of |2 Possible negatives:|During our stay the bar area next to reception didn't appear to be open so your either having an apri ski drink in your room/balcony or of course stopping at one of the many spots on your way back from the lift. |The rooms overlooking the main street get noisy! most nights during our stay. so if your a light sleeper forget it.
