I have recently returned from my first stay at the Lebzelter and I loved every second of my stay.||The hotel is in the heart of the pedestrianised area of Zell am See just a short walk from the train station and the local buses. The hotel is instantly recognisable by it's wonderful yellow facade.||The staff, from reception to the cleaners, are extremely helpful and very friendly. ||I had booked the half board option. Please be aware that the hotel does not serve evening meals on Thursday nights...but you will get your breakfast everyday. There are fruit juices and hot drinks for breakfast. The food choices are typical of the Alpine regions...hams, cheeses, yoghurts etc. However, they also offer cereals as well as rolls and jams. At breakfast you are presented with a menu showing the choices for your evening meal. 1 of the choices is a vegetarian option. Every evening there is also soup, salads and desserts.||My room was 202 on the 2nd floor. There is a small lift right beside the reception desk to take you to the upper floors. My room had a large wardrobe which contains a small safe. There was also a desk with a cupboard and a very comfortable sofa. The bed was very comfortable. My only issue with the room was the lack of air conditioning! The room got incredibly hot even with the window open. The bathroom was a hand basin, toilet and shower. Be careful when using the hot water as it can be cool one minute and extremely hot the next.||The Lebzelter gives it's guests the Zell am See summer card which is brilliant! It allows you to use the local buses and trains, go out on boat trips on the beautiful lake and use of the gondolas to take you up to the mountains and the walking trails. ||I would highly recommend the Lebzelter to anyone wishing to visit Zell am See...it is an absolutely...

Location: in the centre of Zell am See, about a 10 minute walk away from the main bus station with regular lines to Saalbach, Kaprun, and further afield.
Rooms: spacious, with everything you need. TV has digital channels if you add a couple of zeroes in front of the number you select. 0030 and 0031 are for live webcams of the nearest slopes.
Toilet and Shower. Everything you need. Our water temperature in the shower was quite variable - it would go hot and cold every 45 or so seconds. Only seemed to be our room, and the hotel staff are now aware.
Food. Generally brilliant. A soup, salad, and dessert every evening. The mains you select at breakfast. Portions were a little on the light side for mains - for example wings night, 4 wings felt a little on the light side. In hindsight we should have asked for more - didn't even think about doing so... Typically British! But high quality, tasty, and 3 options to choose from - an Austrian option, international, and vegetarian. Allergens are clearly marked on each dish using the EU 14 allergen list.
Bars. Two in the hotel - one on the ground floor, a small, well decorated bar with a good selection of everything you would expect. It's a beautiful room with posters and artwork everywhere - even the ceiling! Also one in the cellar that is cash only, but we didn't try it as it isn't open part of the week
Service and Staff. Brilliant. Friendly. Attentive. Everything you'd want at a hotel.
Ski room. Heated, protected by a lock that can be opened with your room key, plenty of space.
All in all, a 5 star experience I hope to...
Read moreOur family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous quaint and charming super comfortable authentic Austrian hotel located in the heart of Zell am See. The friendliness and hospitality from all of the hotel, restaurant and bar staff was exceptional and they couldn’t do enough to give us a fantastic holiday. Our spacious comfortable and quiet single & double rooms, had comfortable beds, cosy thermostat controlled heating, sofa, desk, tv, good storage and lashings of hot water in the showers. Simple authentic charming Tyrollean style and just perfect for our needs. We opted for half-board and daily enjoyed simple yet delicious home-cooked typical 3-course Austrian dishes + salad buffet and hearty continental breakfast buffet with freshly scrambled eggs. The staff had only one night off in the week but the standard of service did not slip at all and it gave us the opportunity to experience a meal & drinks out on the town. The onsite meals, ski/boot storage cellar and parking meant that we could totally relax and unwind after a full day skiing on the nearby Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn glacier, any easy bus ride away. The hotel bar for Apres Ski is atmospheric yet cosy and a must! We enjoyed the company of a host of nationalities making friends and sharing ski stories and tips throughout the week. Wish we could have stayed longer at this charming gem of a hotel....
