Flavours on 2 — Restaurant in Bahrain Island

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Downtown Rotana for 14 wonderful days, and I can confidently say it was a 5-star experience from start to finish! The location is absolutely perfect, nestled in the heart of Manama with easy access to everything you need. The vibe of the hotel is vibrant yet relaxing, striking the perfect balance between luxury and comfort.

The staff, however, truly elevated this experience to another level with their professionalism and genuine warmth.

A special shoutout to Saidul and Sokaina at Alto Lounge – your smiles and humility made every visit a joy. You both are absolute gems, and your attentive service made me feel right at home. Thank you for looking after me so wonderfully!

To Sara, Azad, and Adrian – your morning greetings were the perfect start to my day, and your care in accommodating my special breakfast requests did not go unnoticed. Your kindness and attention to detail made every meal memorable.

1st time back for a Friday Brunch in Manama since COVID. We tried our old favorites but they were still closed or booked. So we decided to give Flavours on 2 at the Downtown Rotana a shot. We arrived and were promptly seated at a table with a cheese board, bread basket and variety of cold salad starters. The drinks menu is on the table with all the cocktail specials named after Chef's knives. Standard cocktails with a kick. A mimosa with a shot of gin, a bloody Mary nicely altered, and so on. The drinks were flowing fast. Almost too fast. If a manager saw my drink near empty, he would ask what I'm having and even when I said I already ordered another, he would put in another order. Then came a steady parade of food. Hot starters with a delicious shrimp tempura amongst others. Followed by Soup. Sushi. Pork ribs. They then took our Main order. The Prime Rib was a bit thinner cut than I'm used to, but it was a perfect medium rare and very tender. With all they served before the steak, a thin cut was the right size. Mondays - Indian Tuesday - Asian Wednesday - Spanish Saturday and Sunday - international

Seafood, sushi rolls, several salads and a selection of cooked foods (fish, chicken, duck, beef, lamb, seafood, curry, rice dishes) and grill station that usually has lamb chops, shish tawook, kebab etc. At the moment they also have a pasta station where you can have pasta cooked to order.

They also have a great selection of sweets including ice cream and a chocolate fountain

Great value for money and very friendly staff - they often have a discounted price which is 7 BD but normal prices are around 9 / 11BD including soft drinks, tea and coffee. Alcohol is available but not included in the price.
