Our recent rendezvous with this purported traditional establishment was, regrettably, a study in culinary mediocrity and profound social discomfort. While the promise of authentic fare was the initial draw, the overall experience was severely detrimental to our enjoyment, stemming primarily from the demeanour of the service staff….
Upon our arrival, the staff mien was one of singular aloofness and apparent disinterest. This was particularly disconcerting for a group such as ours, and the complete absence of any cordiality or warmth set a tone of unwarranted scrutiny that persisted throughout the entire seating. It is, to say the least, perplexing to encounter such a lack of basic hospitality, especially when one is frequenting an eatery designed to evoke traditional communal values.
The service, beyond the coldness of the reception, was marked by an inexcusable oversight. A significant failing was the omission of the requisite complimentary “Kuboos” (the Arabic pita bread) which, by convention of this type of establishment, is intended to accompany the dishes without the need for express customer request. Such a fundamental lapse in protocol only further contributed to the prevailing sense of being poorly tended to.
As for the epicurean offerings, the food was entirely passable but lacked any distinguishing merit. It provided sustenance, certainly, but failed to elicit the level of satisfaction one anticipates when dining out. ☹️
In summary, while the kitchen staff (whose origins, we note, are likely from the Indian subcontinent) managed to produce an adequate meal, the front-of-house staff's unaffable conduct left an indelible mark of ill-feeling.
Consequently, I would advise those of a similar visage to exercise extreme caution before extending their patronage to this restaurant, lest they be subjected to a similar atmosphere of unwelcome...

Must try the Mahyawa, which is under the "Traditional Breakfast" section. They had it available for dinner when I went. Mahyawa is fermented fish sauce spread and it's spread all over with egg in-between Bahraini crispy bread. Super unique local culinary dish.
The kebabs were good too. Squeeze a little lemon on them and it'll make for a tasty combination with the...
