It's located in the Bab Al-Bahrain Souq or (Bahrain Gate Souq), they also have other branches. I went there for breakfast with family, they open at 8. One obvious problem of the location is the lack of parking space near it, you have to park far and walk for about 5 to 10 mnts crossing a busy street wich could be hard specially for those with kids, elder people or the handicapped. The restaurant being in the Souq compliments its theme and cusine which is traditional Gulf dishes. We ordered a number of dishes but the dishes that stood out were the liver (kebdah), the egg and tomato or (shakshooka) and the falafel. Service was fast and staff were friendly. The seating area was spacious and well lit due to the transparent roof which was pleasent, it makes you feel like you are sitting outdoor with the comfort of the AC during hot weathers. Their prices were cheap but portions were moderate. We had to order another dish of the liver (kebdah) due to the moderate portion. If you enjoy walking around the souq and don't mind parking far and crossing some traffic then I do recommend coming to this particular branch, other wise go to the other one in Seef mall. The food is good, I will visit this restaurant again but maybe not this branch.
Read moreIt was nice to try traditional Bahraini breakfast. We ordered a breakfast for two which included one portion falafel, scrambled egg with tomatoes, beans (not baked beans), lightly spiced potato, mild chickpea curry, sweet vermicelli and teo types of flat bread, one plane and one paratha type which is laced with cumin (acquired taste) i found this one too strong. The eggs and vermicelli i did not like. The flavours compared to Indian food are very blandish and light, some dishes needed more salt but I guess this is how it is here. We ordered the beef liver which was very tasty. Fresh juices were good, we got mango and orange. Our bill came to 30 gbh which is quite pricey and I wouldn't say was worth it. The portions are enough for 4 id say especially as there's so many items, we struggled to finish all the contents. I think a breakfast for 1 would have been better between my partner and I but that option only includes 3 items from what I listed and we wanted to try a bit of everything.
The staff are really nice there but be prepared to wait as its a popular place to eat with locals, we had to put our name on the waiting list ans que for about 15 min mins. The food takes a while to come as its freshly made. There are many flies around which was a...
Read moreAnd for today’s breakfast, we went to Naseef at The Mall in the heart of Manama Souq. This place is always crowded during weekend morning as most tourist, locals, expats goes here to have their breakfast. The place is spacious, high ceiling, and bright. Even it’s crowded you’ll still enjoy your time here, just try to avoid looking around and focus on your meal so you’ll be more relax. We order the single breakfast, as we’re not heavy eater during the morning due to our fasting routine. And it’s enough for two, also the pot of karak was my fav part of the meal (karak is in my blood) The breakfast set is tasty and really heavy, perfect meal to filled you up for long. Good price, good food, good place. Whenever you find yourself in Souq Manama, try Naseef for breakfast, lunch or even snacks (they have desserts that we need to try too 😬)
For parking, we always park in front of intercontinental hotel, paid parking but worth it as we don’t like driving around but rather walking around the souq. As we love walking here during weekend morning — it’s not that crowded and a little bit of sun is good for the...
