Otel' Gubernskiy — Hotel in Minsk

The hotel is definitely one of the best in Minsk, not cheap, and absolutely reasonably priced.||||The building has been renovated recently, and rooms are in a good shape. ||||The hotel is relatively small, and hard to find even if you are local. Metro station is nearby (~5-10 min walk), and Uber works in Minsk, however Uber driver may not be able to locate the hotel quickly, give them some 5-10 minutes extra, don't plan your arrival time too precise. Note that both the airport and the main railway station in Minsk are located on the other side of the busiest central road to the hotel, which can add some 20-30 minutes in a traffic jam if you are travelling between the hotel and that locations in the peak time (8am-10am, 4pm-7pm).||||There are some little but important details which can make your stay pleasant far above your expectations:||1) If you are lucky, you may be granted early check-in for free (I was, thanks a lot to the hotel receptionist and cleaning service).||2) The hotel restaurant works in mornings only, it opens at 8:00am, but for me and one more customer the exceptionally good breakfast was ready by 7:45am. I am very grateful for that!||3) The hotel is located in a quiet district, surrounded by three-floor old buildings, and the hotel building is similar to them too. Thus, no noise was heard at night, at all.||4) Every room has its own private wi-fi router, thus you do not share a wifi with many people, internet connection is reasonably fast.||||Let's move to some little minuses:||1) Hotel staff can be really tired, they do have 24 hours long duty (I mean, the same receptionist stays at the reception for 24 hours, as far as I understand, then he/she has two days off, then the duty repeats). In my case, a cleaning lady forgot some trash on a table in the room, but I don't care about that too much, because if I work 24 hours continuously, I doubt I can forget even my name at the end of the duty.||2) laundry service, which the hotel relies on, may not work well enough. However if notice that the towel has spots, just tell the receptionist, and they change it instantly, no problem.||||Hotel provides you with a bathrobe and slippers, which is specifically important and must be a standard everywhere, but in fact few hotels with less than 5 stars do it. Thus, this hotel deserves 5 stars for sure.||||Complimentary cooled and hot water is in the device outside of the room, and you can use tea bags provided in-room to make a tea.||||Do not drink tap water, it's not designed to be drinked in Minsk. Use still water from the water cooler in the corridor, or bottled sparkling water in the room.||||If you need to eat something in a day time or in the evening, there are several eating places around the hotel. There is no room service in the hotel!||||Depending on your trip purpose, the location of the hotel can be its good or bad, for business travelers it's not very good, but acceptable. Be prepared to wait for a taxi for at least 15 minutes, even for Uber. It's because Uber does not have many drivers in Minsk, and other taxis are traditionally not fast too. I stayed at this hotel for one night, since hotel prices were quite high at Minsk at the usual chains - it felt like the local currency was quite strong compared to their neighbors in the region.||It is on a narrow street, and does not feel like your usual hotels. Rather old looking building with thick walls (gets cold there, and very Russian).||Wi-fi was ok, room was huge!, with an equally humongous bed! As I said, it did not have the usual hotel feel, but it was comfortable enough for my one night stay.||||I was quite excited when I saw tea/coffee in the room, but upon asking where the kettle was, I was pointed the water dispenser machine's hot compartment in the corridor. I prefer my tea water to be boiling, so that was a let down.||||Overall, I was not disappointed. I would still look for an alternative when I visit Minsk next, but wouldn't have any issues to go back under similar...

Не знаю кто и как квалифицировал этот отель как 4 звезды, по моему мнению там и 3 можно только с большой натяжкой дать. При заселении почему-то отказались принимать всю сумму оплаты. Объясняли как-то странно - а вдруг у вас какой форс-мажор случится. Он может случиться в любой момент. Или это попытка потом не возвращать деньги? Номер дали на 1 этаже, за это спасибо. Из плюсов еще расположение, в центре, но в тихом месте. Завтраки были включены. Почему-то они длятся очень короткое время - с 8 до 10, хотя в других отелях в разных городах и странах бывает и начинаются с 9 и длятся до 11 и даже позже. Спуск в подвал по винтовой лестнице, причем 2 встречных человека там не разойдутся. Ассортимент не очень разнообразный. Что удивило - просили 1 раз сварить яйцо всмятку, в итоге почему-то получили в мешочек, хотя это разный по времени способ приготовления. И оно было горячим, не охлажденным и конечно очень плохо чистилось. На мой вопрос есть ли майонез, ответ был нет, у нас его вообще нет. Эти так сказать повара не в курсе, что после варки яйца надо охлаждать? И не знают блюдо советской кухни яйцо под майонезом? 1 из поваров была в длинном фартуке, а 2 в коротком переднике. И судя по одежде, они как в уличном пришли, так и не переодевались. Надеюсь, хоть руки мыли. Омлет 1 раз предложили - никакой на вкус, ни соли, ничего. Ресепшен тоже странно работает. В первый день я в 22 часа спустилась, чтобы задать вопрос, над стойкой ресепшен был погашен свет, пришлось звонить в колокольчик. Здесь не знают, что ресепшен должен работать 24/7, что в любой момент может что-то случиться или возникнут вопросы? И в последующие дни, кто был на ресепшен было впечатление, что не на работу пришли, а в гости к друзьям. 2 хвостика прическа, короткие шорты. В тот же первый день спустилась узнать про мини бар, который почему-то не в номере. Мне сказали, что кроме боржоми там уже ничего не осталось. Это вообще как? В номере холодильник течет, поэтому плохо охлаждает. 1 раз пришлось звать с ресепшен, телевизор завис. Звукоизоляции в номере нет, было слышно как сверху топают. Пульты от телевизора не добивают с кровати. Уборка очень странная - ни разу не пылесосили ковровое покрытие и пол в санузле не мыли ни разу. На полу там видели типа мокриц. И все время приходили в абсолютно разное время убираться. Здесь всего 10 или 11 номеров, нельзя это делать в одно время? А не сегодня утром, завтра вечером. И горничные на горничных не похожи. Никакой формы, фартук как у продавщицы с рынка. Полотенца за 10 дней поменяли 1 раз, хотя даже в их правилах указано, что ежедневно. Поэтому у меня очень большой вопрос как им присваивали квалификацию. Рекомендую только если вам все равно где ночевать, на 1-2...
