Lovely view by the canal not as near to main centre as some other hotels, but this was a positive as I'm sure not everyone experienced the beautiful short walk back along the water. The hotel itself is rather dated. The stairs leading up to the floors were a bit steep and lights that were supposed to come on when it detected movement didn't always work making it feel dangerous if you chose stairs rather than lift. Breakfast was good and substantial with good choice for all tastes. Staff were accommodating and some were friendly. Locking room door was a challenge key seemed to go round in lock without actually locking.
