BEWARE. My fam of 4 went there for dinner and we were drawn in by their Mussels Special clearly displayed on their front doorstep. We ordered 3 teas but was charged for 3 pots of tea. We asked if we can exchange it for Belgian Hot Chocolate but the waiter refused. He claims it was already punched in. Asked for a Manager and he said there was none. When the tea arrived it was just hot water and a sealed packet of tea. Ridiculous why it couldn’t be canceled. Then the food arrived. 27€ for mixed steak, 29€ Flemish Beef Stew, 29€ Steak filet and €29 for the mussels. The signage outside clearly stated it was 50% off of the Mussels 14,5€ and Beef Stew but they claim it’s a lunch menu. But it doesn’t state on the signage! TOURIST TRAP. (See photo). Mussels are decent but the steaks are all dry and tough to chew. As to not to create a scene we paid for 133€ bill. And yes the beer 9€ 50cl was watered down 🤦🏻‍♂️ Never again. Didn’t expect this from this country. NEVER AGAIN. STAY AWAY. Wish I read the reviews prior to ordering 😤. Lesson learned. Moolenport surely will not last if they continue this way of marketing and service. Try the Thai Resto across the street and Tattie’s near Market Sq. Everyone else seems nice and welcoming.

Where do I begin…. We came here because there wasn’t any available seating next door. We decided to just do drinks, since the reviews were so poor. We asked for tap water, a small beer and a limoncello spritz. We were told we couldn’t have tap water but would get still water. We were given a large bottle of water, a HUGE beer, and the spritz. This came to €27. We were charged €6.50 for the water! When I asked why we couldn’t have received tap water, our waiter went on a long, incoherent monologue about how we couldn’t have tap water because it was being used to make beer….? Super weird. Then asked about why we were given such a large beer and he basically just wanted us to pay and leave. Wouldn’t recommend, they’ll try to rip you off no matter how little you deign to order from such an awful place.

What can I say. So many restaurants in Bruges to visit and we picked this one. First the food was terrible and I mean terrible. We ordered moules et frites. It came out straight away and the restaurant was empty so suspect they had been streaming a while. There was no taste to them. I ordered them in white wine sauce but what I got was hot water, I doubt there was even a hint of wine. I felt uncomfortable there too, I got the impression that if I complained I would be threatened so just left. The drinks fell short of the usual measures ie a pint wasn’t even close to the top - they covered this by supplying an enormous frothing head to the beer. Not their fault but I think we were near a wasp nest too. I would recommend eating at one of the other many restaurants and not take a chance on this one.

Worst restaurant experience ever. We were there for more than 2 hours, including the hour between ordering and receiving our food and the 15 minutes while they made the correct food for my father-in-law and the 20 minutes after we asked for our bill. Our waiter came around after 50 minutes and asked something unintelligible and I responded with we are waiting for our food. In those 50 minutes there was no interaction with the waiter. After 55 minutes, we asked another waiter what was happening. They were down 1 cook, yet others ordered, had appetizers, dinner, desert, and left while we were waiting. It is hard to have good customer service when you aren't working for a gratuity. They came out with our food and they brought some kind of salmon plate to my father in law when he ordered a cod and potato dish. The other waiter came back and said they would bring a complimentary drink, but those didn't arrive until we were all done and waiting for our check. We ordered a soup to go for my sick wife when our food arrived and we had to ask for the soup when we were asking for our check. I finally had to go up to the counter and ask for the soup and our check and told them we would like to leave now. They asked that we return the bowl. They can look for it in the canal.

Also, my father-in-laws menu had different pages in it. He ordered the cod and potatoes after trying to order something they had in his menu that they no...

Shocking Service - AVOID

We were a family group from Australia S-Africa and Belgium, meeting up in Brugge, and wanting a quiet meal next to the canal. After eating our meal and having coffee, the waiter became very impatient. He brought us the bill, which we paid, and suddenly thereafter wanted us to leave, supposedly because the table was reserved. The restaurant was not busy at that moment and there were many other empty tables along the canal. He suggested we move to another table which was across the footpath (adjoining the building), which we did, understanding that tables along the canal are prime spots. Once we were there he brought the menu again, and because we only wanted to have another coffee, he got rude with us as this was too little for him. He then asked us to move inside the restaurant, saying that every square-metre is money for him. This we refused considering that we still wanted to see the city. We therefore decided to leave, rather than spend another 10 minutes in such an impolite environment. I am nearly 60 years old and have never encountered such a rude attitude and impatience by a waiter. Shocking to say the least!!! The next evening we went to La Trattoria, Oostmeers 88 in Brugge, and had a wonderful experience spending less money, getting nice food, and the service...
